TV Series

Writers have said there will be one more series (Series 5) to come next year that should wrap it all up. I think its brilliant and waiting for all the episodes in s4 to drop before starting to watch. Hell of a lot to clear up though that's for sure as its a proper head fuck of a series.

A lot of answers already in these first 4 episodes and the story is really bouncing along. Couple of twists and turns I didn't see coming but the clues were always there. Great TV.

I Struggle with the animation, hmm

You know what? I did with the original 'Clone Wars' stuff. Far too clunky for me, so didn't watch half of it.

But, while this show retains the overall design, the tech has upgraded massively and makes it watchable.

Ten eps flew by after the the first two, for me.

I don’t think I’ll ever enjoy a TV series again, ha.

It’s ages since I’ve watched something and thought that was awesome or sod it, I’m up at 6am but I’m going to watch another episode before bed.

If I need a show to watch now I just go to stuff I’ve seen before.

I come on here and see people give reviews to new things released and they use words like excellent, amazing, brilliant and you watch them with hope and think please be good and generally it’s - Christ, it’s really not.

You know when something’s good as about 5/6 people on here all agree. Like for example - Mr Inbetween. I’m back on that for a third time.

Sky Pee me off. They release something and hammer us with adverts for like a month solid before it starts, like that new thing ‘Prisoner’. It sounds interesting and after 2 episodes I just think, I couldn’t care less what happens to these people actually. Another boring show that some might like but it’s hardly top tv. It’s English trying to be American.

Anyway, moan over but I miss the days when someone says watch this and it’s actually good and you’re excited as you have 5 seasons to get into…. Looks like that’s long gone for me.

An example I things I’ve loved for the record off top of my head:

LOST
True Detective (S1)
Breaking Bad
Walking Dead (Up to S5)
Succession
Dexter
Sopranos
Justified
Game of Thrones

So all different types of stuff. Just been a while I’ve managed to get invested in one.
Some cracking series there, never watched Dexter or Lost though. I struggle to find really good stuff.
I'm currently half way through season 2 of Paradise which I hadn't heard of and its excellent imho.

Man on Fire. All a bit meh which is a shame as i loved the film. It just didn't translate into a series and they just didn't capture the Denzel vibe.

The accents are atrocious for sure. The dialogue and acting - do you find it realistic SR?

Edit - the Greek who likes the Turks, he is about as authentic as the Picasso in my living room
I can see why you say that and the dialogue could have been more realistic and some of the performances verge precariously on caricature but and its a big but, the story fairly rattles along and its not without some tension. I am enjoying it. Is it Soprano standard? No of course not but compared to lots of todays dross its certainly worth a try.

Average at best

Yeah, I’ve heard a few people mention Paradise.
I’ll give that a try at some point. Only two seasons though, isn’t there, and I hate getting into something then having to wait two years for another season as I forget most of what happened during that time, ha.

Dexter is a great, fun, easy watch.
Brilliant lead character, really likeable supporting cast.
Loads of seasons to get stuck into… what are you waiting for?! ;-)

Disclaimer - it is totally unrealistic and daft at times, but it doesn’t take itself seriously.
Just a serial killer killing other serial killers - what’s not to like?

Too many seasons(learnt my lesson with walking dead) and a bit too silly for my tastes. The premise of a serial killer killing other serial killers just puts me off tbh.

Paradise has two seasons but they said they will wrap it up in season 3

I have to say 'Widow's Bay' is growing on me.

Nice comedy slant and a few decent B list comedy stars in there.

Building up, nicely!
Each one as a standalone "horror" trope with the overarching story is fun. Enjoying it.
