Agree, I think he'd play further up the field generally than he does for Forest, mainly just because we dominated possession more.

I'd expect him to take on Bernardo's role though really and he doesn't get a ton of goals, but he impacts games and we need him.

I don't think 'considerable' but yeah a bit of an increase.

It's hard to judge. He'd be in a more attacking side that has greater ball and territorial advantage, but there are a lot of other players to grab goals too.

He's shown he can provide for Wood though, so he should be able to provide for Haaland pretty well.

Well I certainly know that Anderson isn’t imminent. I was only pointing out that the transfer window doesn’t really have much to do with when announcements are made

Plays as a 6 for England but as an 8 for Forest and I think you're right, if Rodri is in there as a 6 he can look to play the role Gundo did where he underlaps and gets into attacking position to score goals. He's got wonderful technique, as showcased for against Newcastle. Definitely a player we need to sign. Hoping it can be done before the World Cup.

I think that was the role envisaged for Reijnders but the league has got more physical even more so this season,Reijnders might learn to cope with it and rotate with Anderson,but think Anderson has the ability and physicality to excel in the Gundogan role.

For me it's more a lack of intelligence off the ball with Reijnders. He's so often invisible because he just doesn't seem to have the ability to get into the right space to receive the ball. He makes that run in behind but that's about it. And then he's miles away from being able to cover defensively and his usual decision in the final third is to shoot over the bar. I've not seen much from him that tells me he's up to our standards sadly.

Yeah its a strange one with Reijnders...on paper & actually in person the bloke looks like an ideal midfielder. He's a tall chap & does seem to have a bit of muscle on him. However, this doesn't seem to translate onfield & in all fairness I don't think he was ever known as the most combative midfielder during his time in Serie A.

PSG has shown the world you don't actually need to have hugely athletic giants in midfield to be a successful team in this footballing era with Neves & Vitinha. But they do need to be technically excellent & have a strong workrate desire, with the latter I've yet to see from Reijnders & a bit of needle in him which I don't think exists.

Anderson seems to tick a lot more of these boxes & whilst some may argue its different positions, seems to be the more effective player & would upgrade our midfield.

Yeah, the PSG midfield is infuriating because Vitinha and Neves are the type of players Pep would adore. What I would say, is in the CL the physicality is much lower - referees will give free kicks for most contact. In the PL they probably wouldn't have quite the same dominance, because they would get muscled off the ball and probably not get a free kick for it even when it should be.

I personally think Anderson offers a bit of a hybrid. He's technically excellent but also has that physicality needed. He was superb against Newcastle and their midfield three is one of the more physical in the league too.

I actually think Ligue 1 players these days are more suited to the Premier League than the Bundesliga & La Liga. Its very physical & a majority of players can hold their own. I don't think its a coincidence that whilst both Wirtz & Cherki seem the same stature, Rayan looks much more comfortable so far in the Premier League & Wirtz a bit light weight getting used to increased physicality week in week out, which he probably didn't experience in the Bundesliga.

No need to worry about this with Anderson...he's already battle tested!

Yeah there haven't been many standouts from Bundesliga, at least that haven't played in the PL before. Frimpong hasn't looked great either. Ekitike looks sharp, but he's French so probably backs up what you're saying. There have been plenty from Ligue 1 that impressed. Khusanov obviously came in and immediately looked comfortable with the physicality, it's just the pace of the game that's tougher in the PL. Truffert and Kroupi at Bournemouth, Cherki for us. A couple elsewhere through the league too.
