I have no skin in the game as long as we apply the same stringent moral code to all politicians equally.
If she, Polanski, or others are guilty of tax avoidance then they should be held to account.
Guilty of not declaring income, the same.
Hiding donations - same.

Her 'brand'.
This is why we are fucked and going nowhere as a country. Right wing press labelling politicians negatively, slap it all over the front pages and sm and bingo, bad people that cant be trusted. A sea of negativity.
 
I find it bloody weird that large sections of our society are so judgemental towards a working-class woman made good. Have we not had enough of pampered charlatans? Is it against the rules for a single mum to rise?
Some of the comments sections are utterly vile about her - 'slag, disgusting, and common-as-muck' slurs are commonplace and reflect very badly on the nation.

Yes, and whatever the circumstances the reports are that HMRC are satisfied that there has been no tax avoidance.

Personally, I like to see people doing well and achieving, especially if they come from more challenging circumstances. I cannot grasp why anyone in the 21st century would feel that people should stay in their place and not have ideas above their station. Such anachronistic beliefs consign us to the same old faces from Eton and Harrow into the political classes, and we know where that has brought us.

I would be paying far more attention to people like Wes Streeting and the substantial monies he receives from private healthcare. To Farage and his £5m gift along with other serious allegations, and to the innumerable politicians receiving money from Israel who are then expected to act objectively over the Middle East tinderbox.

We had fuck all growing up in Moss Side, I was shit at school and even failed my 11+

Ended up playing a significant role in the operation of our nuclear deterrent platform and weapon

Her brand is she grew up dirt poor, left school with no qualifications and pregnant, dragged herself up and got on in life - supported by the state. Not an uninspiring story and one she often uses to highlight she is one of us.

Then buys a £800k house and forgets to pay tax. Not really the image she likes to portray. So yes it damages her brand whether or not you like the word.
