Seat Counters 25/26

I worry about our attendances at midweek matches next season with the increased capacity in the ground.

For whatever reason our attendances really do suffer when domestic matches aren’t on a weekend.

It’s not as obvious for Champions League matches, as more tourists take up the slack, but our core support has a lot of fair weather fans that result in no shows for what ever reason.

I wouldn't worry I only see it as a good thing the club will be forced to my matches more affordable and also easier to pass tickets on to other fans hopefully it's the kick up the arse they needed.

The penny will drop for somebody at City next season when there are 10k empty seats at midweek games.

As many have stated - the shambolic transport situation has led to thousands simply not bothering now. They ain’t fairweather supporters - it’s just become far too difficult for those that need to drive or get longer public transport journeys to midweek games.

Cheaper seats and easier ticket transfer may fill a few more seats - but it won’t solve the transport and parking issues.

I think that a lot on here with excuses why they don't want to attend matches is is because their wives won't let them but will not admit it.

Older fans (e.g bluemoon) were bound at attend less over time, especially midweek.
We haven't expanded the fanbase to replace them. I'm half baffled that we just haven't got as many new young fans in gtr MCR as I'd have expected & I'm half baffled how City have made it difficult for those we have got to get to games easily.

There won’t be, they have already said they’re charging £25 adults for a ticket for those types of games next season and they’ll sell a lot more than they did last night for half the price

From a supporter’s point of view it’s surely ideal for seats to be available if you want to go to a game. Why worry about idiots on social media?

We've got shit loads of young fans in Greater Manchester - it's trying to get them into the ground to attend games that is the issue

They should be filling that whole new stand with them on a weekly basis at cheap price as a loss leader. Get them for life. £250 a season ticket for all under 21s and an existing season ticket holder can move with them for the same price. Something like that.

I remember thinking much the same when City moved to the Etihad and when the third tier was added to the South Stand. It turns out I was thinking bollox.

I don’t think it’s mid-week matches per se that are the problem. It’s matches that were rearranged to mid-week because of Cup matches that struggle to sell. This is probably down to pricing strategy. If tickets were already sold at full prices before the rearrangement, I can understand what the reaction would be if the prices were then cut when the match was switched to mid-week.

That is only usually likely to happen a maximum of three to four times a season. In the circumstances the attendance against Palace was better than I expected given that the visiting support was understandably very low. In any event many of the empty seats were down to ‘no shows’ by season ticket holders.

A lot of the kids growing up these days don’t have the attention span to sit through a live game.
My 6 year old loves City but he won't sit and watch through a whole game at home just yet. However, I took him to his one and only game this season and he really enjoyed it.

I'm planning on getting him to a few more games next season, I just need to break it to him that we're not going to score 10 goals every time!

Be so much better if attendances were regularly reported. Being able to say we had 51000 to a hastily arranged midweek end of season game where the away tem brought about 1000 is good going, no matter what the capacity of the ground is.

We do have a lot of older fans as well, who don’t go to midweek/ night matches. I know quite a few who only do weekend games, as that’s enough for them
