47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

two great assists, and it should be noted that after he set up Gvardiol for the header (still 1st half), about 5 seconds later the ball pinged about the box and came straight back to him high out of the air, where Phil simply cushioned it, faked a long shot and drilled it right to Bernie in the box who then had a curling attempt but high/wide.

He was on fire in the 1st half, best he's played in ..... 2+ years?

That's how it should be. Don't overthink it and just let his natural talent and instincts show through.

Superb performance. Two wonderful assists, could've even snagged a third. Love it.

Great to see Foden enjoying himself on a football pitch again. His quality will always shine through if he can get back to playing with confidence.

Finally a free flowing performance. If we had this version of Foden for a tad longer this season we’d be winning the league by a mile. Hope he keeps it going…thrilled for him!

Hopefully he gets a break this summer

Put himself in the window for a WC place with that performance last night. I don't know what's best for him in all honesty.

I think Tommy will take him.

He clearly really likes him as a player and keeps picking him even when he wasn't getting a sniff here. I think Tuchel was willing him to find some form and confidence almost as much as us, which is why he was giving him opportunities he didn't really deserve.

I think a couple of good performances will be all it takes to give Tuchel a reason to take him. I get it. A Foden at his best is in the top few most talented English players. Tuchel isn't stupid and knows that. Tuchel is a winner and a confident manager, he'll fancy his chances of being the England manager that gets Phil to work in an England team.

Bang on. He doesn't have time to play himself into a starting position, but if you're Tuchel and you're looking at your subs, needing a moment of something to turn a game or break a deadlock, knowing Foden is back on the up will be too tempting to turn down IMO.

I think Tuchel appreciates his qualities and that Foden doesn't act like a big star but is willing to help the team.

The question is at whose expense. Eze, Rogers, MGW. Palmer has been underwhelming, but the other 3 have a proper chance to make it.

Was a bit surprised he didn't get on yesterday but i'm sure he doesn't want sympathy minutes either. His last 2 performances have been much better and maybe he gets a start at Bournemouth.

Think Pep would have brought him on if we were 2 or 3 up yesterday but since it was a tight game Pep doesn’t like to change the flow of the game unless it’s necessary.
