FA Youth Cup winners: 2-1 win v rags, match thread / Thurs 14th May 2026

Well done City u-18s. I was very impressed with McAidoo. City played much better football than Utd and in the 2nd half their pressure counted. I think McAidoo could be playing on the right in City's first team next season.

Most of them came from the 1980's judging by their songs, embarrasing for their kids to be playing in front of them.

I mean singing "if I die in kippax street" at Youth Cup match. Most of those kids will have never have heard of "kippax street".
1990's more like

Well done to the junior blues. Take it you raggy cunts.

With the repeateded success at youth level and the ever growing list of academy graduates making it in the professional game, it's never been clearer that we really are the club to be at. Which ex rag will be begging to send their kids to our academy next?

The amount of coverage given to it not being at the etihad, namely because we literally played there yesterday and there's ongoing work on the stadium is insane. Anything to force a false narrative.

For the rags with their 40 game season, this was their big day out, this was as good as it gets for them, whereas it was simply our third youth cup final in a row. We operate on different levels.

Another trophy to add to the haul, women's are about to get their title, first team might add a second trophy this season at the weekend and United fans are clinging on to the saddest thing in football, the "we've got more fans than you" claim. And just when you think it doesn't get any sadder than that, you hear them chanting about cheating at a youth game. Oh dear.
Tbh, it was a poor game. We played a possession tactic which was boring and negative and failed to take several chances. But we scored when we had to and the rags were downed, so well done boys.

Loan spell at a league 1 side playing against men is probably his current level for next season, suggesting he could jump straight into our first team ahead of the likes of semenyo, cherki, foden, savinho is a huge leap.

Well deserved. Should have been more comfortable really but a win's a win.

What the fuck they going on about afterwards, that the winners now go on to play Chelsea? What's that for, like a youth Charity Shield?

Think the Chelsea Youth game is between winners of the respective Youth team leagues (City won the Northern League, Chelsea the Southern version).
The FA Youth Cup was always the most prestigious trophy...

I’m getting nonce vibes from Ferguson after reading the same Stone article. It seems Gabriel spent some time on his own with Ferguson. This seems to be a recurring theme from Ferguson that any aspiring young player has to spend some time on his own with Ferguson. All the hallmarks of Jimmy Saville that guy.

Gabriel does actually look like someone who’d enjoy that!!
Yes, quite a few of Fergie's Fledglings have turned out to be odious, obnoxious oafs.
It's amazing how many absolute arseholes have passed through Carrington, including Mason Greenwood and Bryan Riggs...

Thanks. So they would have ben playing that game anyway. They were making out like the winners of the cup went on to it. That's what it sounded like to me at least.

Normal rag fans (I'm sure there are some), and the families of those kids, must have been totally embarrased by it, glad City fans stayed classy, getting behind the young lads.
Makes you wonder how their more odious fans get the 899 gold dust tickets , when 69,000 were on the waiting list
