26 | Savinho - 2025/26

Thought he played okay. Didn't really have the upper hand on Mitchell for the most part, but kept working hard.

Good goal, think the finishing surprised everyone.

Set up Semenyo 2 times who couldn’t do anything with the ball. Can easily go out with 1 assist and a goal. If it was a certain other player most here would claim „ absolute world class“ game. Nonetheless he is 21.

Played well in a game it was easy to go missing in. Beat his man and cut back a perfect ball right onto the penalty spot towards the middle of the first half that nobody got on the end of.

Took his goal well. The look of relief on his face was very telling, and judging by the players reaction they seem to realise how much pressure he's putting himself under.

He did a couple of great pieces of play to beat pressure and open up the pitch/create an opportunity. Think he linked up well with Semenyo before he did that horrid pass attempt to Doku.

He's nowhere near the level we need for the trophies we're trying to win. He belongs at Everton

The majority on here seem to be set in their opinions on the lad. Which is a shame, but it's City fans' way. We seem to love having a scapegoat. And we're blessed that we have several candidates this season. Sav, Rico and Tijani spring to mind straight away.

Rico, Savinho and Tijani have all had poor seasons though. It’s tough to be positive about players that have performed to that level.

One of his better games for us. The issue is you can probably count on one hand the amount of actual good games he has had.

I think we can all acknowledge he has some good attributes there but the difference is doing it at a high level with some consistency. For me, he doesn't look like he would.

Hopefully he does. I wouldn't mind him staying another season rather than throw the towel in on him just yet. If he's made no progression after that, then it'll be time to go.

The reality is you could probably copy and paste the previous two paragraphs into the Reijnders thread and it'll apply to him too. We can't be carrying too many players like this.

I don't think he's had a good season but I do think that if it clicks in front of goal (which it can do as he's only young), Savinho could be very very good.

Agreed. He's had an underwhelming season. But I'm assuming we all want him to succeed, yeah. I'm not sure that slagging him off constantly will get him to the level we all want. And no; I'm not on about on here. I'll take a guess that he doesn't spend too much time on here!
