BBC and United reach a new low (FA Youth Cup related - City champions)

Stone and Fletcher are, of course absolutely right. Their logic that there would have been fewer empty seats at OT (apart from anywhere near the hole in the roof) is conclusive and the rags should have stolen home advantage. In fact, if this (flawed) logic is followed the rags should not have one single away game next season for any of their teams. And any fans of away teams who celebrate goals or, even worse, victories can be ejected immediately.

Paternal shady financial nepotism at the Trafford Tramps ?
It's constant at that robbing club.
Remember when the GPC tried to control all transfers at the Swamp through his son (not Darren, the Posh manager), who was supposedly a football agent.
Fat Sam Allerdyce tried the same trick at Boiton.
The BBC Panorama programme dud an investigation into their scheme, with both rte GPC & Fat Sam refusing to talk to BBC's Match of the Day - an absolute disgrace and cop-out...

Somehow I can’t see panorama looking into this one.

All this about fletcher being a mard arse and us getting stick for not selling out a youth cup final is the most ball tingingly cringe fest the rags have displayed since … well, the last time

Weirdo’s

Mike Minay on commentary seemed to have a glowing biography to hand of every single United player. Yet not so much to say about the eventual winners...
I wonder if United supplied him with all that info and our comms dept missed a trick?

That said, given he was at pains (after the game) to point out how "United's players will only learn from this experience", I suspect he had decided who his aidience was and played to them.
IMO

Mike Minay was trying to keep his commentary balanced and I didn’t notice him going over the top either way!!!

He was informative about the current City Boys on numerous occasions and City’s 1986 Youth Winning Team :0)

And he actually more of Blue than any other commentator in business at the moment. :0)

And used to do a weekly Man City Podcast on the BBC with Natalie Pike, that was excellent!!! :0)

But the BBC surprise, surprise stopped it!!! :0(

I am more than happy when he is on commentary for our games :0)

When tickets are £5, it can sell out and people not turn up as it’s so cheap. It’s what’s likely to have happened. It also filled up more during the game as people got there after work.
Rain was pretty heavy before kick off too, that could have put people off.

Also I'm not convinced that everyone who buys a seat, sits in it, do they sell tickets in the standing area ?

I think it's right to highlight Fletcher's comments but I am not as hostile towards Stone as some of you. The article has largely quoted Fletcher. I don't think we need Stone to make Fletcher's contradictions clear. Fletcher has hung himself with his own comments and Stone published them. I don't think it's fair to say that Stone endorses them, indeed he commented that Fletcher shouted his criticism.

To be fair to Fletcher, he's got a point in saying we've denied the Raggies the opportunity to play at the swamp.
Most of the overhyped dross churned out by their academy these days end up drifting around the lower leagues.

Carabao, Fa Cup Final, the league still possible, women's league, women's FA Cup final. So much going on at the club, it's understandable that we werent crazily fixated on this game, great as it is to have won it.

Meanwhile, united have had their 40 game season...It's no wonder they wanted to turn this into a big game - for them it was, but for us? Not so much.
