BBC and United reach a new low (FA Youth Cup related - City champions)

I think it's right to highlight Fletcher's comments but I am not as hostile towards Stone as some of you. The article has largely quoted Fletcher. I don't think we need Stone to make Fletcher's contradictions clear. Fletcher has hung himself with his own comments and Stone published them. I don't think it's fair to say that Stone endorses them, indeed he commented that Fletcher shouted his criticism.
It wasn’t an exclusive interview either. It was a pitchside rant from Fletcher that a pool of journalists recorded.

It paints the rags in much poor a light than it does us.

Stone whipped up the story earlier in the week. He was pushing for the match to be switched to the swamp.

Pathetic cunts!

It’s fucking simple: City had home advantage, and we chose to play at the youth team’s home stadium.

Why would we change it to a ground most of them had never played in or changing rooms many of them had never changed in?

It was about our home advantage being the same routine for our home team.

It’s not our fault the rest of the country don’t have a home stadium for their youth teams.

Forget the fact that all of his mewling and whining afterwards was utterly childish and entirely unbalanced and consider the events in the timeline that immediately led up to it...

1. Fletcher had his goalkeeper pretend to be injured, around the 70th/75th minute mark, so he could squeeze in a teamtalk.
If anything, they played worse afterwards.
2. Not long later, his side (of unparallelled prodigious talenrts, apparently) were, to nobody's surprise, a goal down.
3. Soon after thar, they were throwing the kitchen sink at it with no discernable gameplan at all.
4. Then, the whistle went. His team - by now, resembling a flick of headless chickens, were deservedly beaten.
5. As the City lads collected their winners' medals,.he decided to shout abuse at the FA officials, sonehow contriving to blame them and big bad City for all of the above.

A cheat, an incompetent, a bully and, above all, a fucking loser.

Fletcher’s sons didn’t make it at City’s academy so I can understand why he’s a bit bitter. They’ve found their level at the swamp though.
Ironic he's cry arsing about City yet he was quick enough to send his kids to our academy to get a decent education on and off the pitch.
Not the first ex Rag to do this and won't be the last.
Unlike most Rags who don't make it, at least his kids will be able to land a decent job if as expected they don't make it thanks to the education they got at St Bedes.
The ungrateful, entitled Rag ****.

Not really seeing what the outrage is about Stone in this article. 90% of it is quotes from Fletcher and comment on FA procedure.

The only thing is the mention of empty seats. Are people still genuinely wound up by that after 15+ years of the same dig?

When tickets are £5, it can sell out and people not turn up as it’s so cheap. It’s what’s likely to have happened. It also filled up more during the game as people got there after work.

Oh yeah, thing is why wasn’t what Fletcher said questioned? It’s not balanced? It’s the bbc stopped to impartial balanced?

If Oliver Reiss at city said what Fletcher did we know it would be written differently, we have dozens of examples as well..

It was a pitchside interview given to a gaggle of reporters.

No City manager, of any level, would say anything like that to the press.

Hence it shows Fletcher for what he is and why it’s gone down like a lead balloon on social media in all fanbases.

I admit your Correct in all that!

I forgot you don’t answer hypotheticals from posts. A poster of facts respect that..

the decrepit scouse shill was ignored by the City U18 skipper at the award ceremony

That picture says it all. When did you ever see a picture like that at a trophy presentation? Still waiting for the outcome of the investigation UEFA launched into the leaks of our confidential information from within the UEFA Investigatory Chamber. And he's still on the football gravy train.
