Chelsea (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

There was a moment early on when Chelsea were moaning at him and he just tapped the badge on his arm to say "i'm the referee."
The ref stood firm in his decisions today, and he should certainly be applauded for that .... too many of them bow to crowd or player pressure, but this guy was a breath of fresh air.

I might be in a minority here but I thought Chelsea did what they needed to do to stand any chance today. It’s what most teams do against us and if they had more quality up top they could’ve really given us problems. One moment of absolute quality was the difference for me. I’m over the moon we had that in our locker.

Another thing I got from the game. I thought the ref was really good. He bought nothing cheap and I think if we’d been reffed like that all season we’d be on for another domestic treble.

Chelsea did what they needed to do to try and make it scrappy and not pretty. The ref didn’t fall for a lot of it and a moment of football broke out and won the cup.

Up the fuckin blues. Now let’s take this league to the last day and you never know.

Actually, I did think that we got away with something - but it wasn't any of the penalty decisions anybody has discussed. It also happens to be one of those things that all keepers do on occasion but for which they're never penalised.

I haven't watched the game back yet, but early in the first half I'm sure that Traff carried the ball a yard outside the area whilst either kicking or throwing it out (I think throwing). The way decisions have been going lately, I was half expecting a VAR check.

As for the tackles, nope, not one. Khus was totally in control of himself today, played a blinder.

A wins a win!

Great goal.

Poor performance until the goal I thought. That line up just didn’t work.

Saw the game out well.

Weird day. Atmosphere felt very flat probably due to how we were playing! Livened up after the goal.

Well done the boys

My half time tactical advice to sub Semenyo for Phil or Cherki was as shit as ever

Am I missing something? Twice the commentators said City are the first team to go unbeaten in domestic competitions….
First to go unbeaten in BOTH domestic cup competitions in the same season apparently, although I don't really get it. Others have won both trophies in the past (including ourselves of course), so how do they get to do that unless they're unbeaten in both? The comment didn't make any sense to me.

You realise Enzo is on his shirt don’t you?

I’m glad I don’t bow to your better knowledge…
Yes, but you realise that plenty of players have their Christian names on their shirts? I think that Jordi Cruyff was the first, to avoid massively unfavourable comparison with his dad.

Enzo Fernandez.

No big deal - I was just being flippant.

God I love this club. Bet there are loads of fans who, just like me, when we win another trophy, think only of that close relative who supported them all through those desperately lean years and never lived to see this. This is so cheesy I can’t believe I’ve posted it, but it’s true and I have drunk at fair amount.
I think of plenty mate, and hope when I'm gone people think of me when we win even more!
