Pep to leave at the end of the season

Managed a small team no expectations you can lose games draw games no headlines! done a great job!

Maresca had been at city knows how it’s run knows the expectations of our club knows people in the club Khaldoon Soriano and so on! He also managed a team with expectation won two trophies no matter how small they are!

So in what world you think Iraola is better choice I don’t know! All he has is he plays good football!

What makes anyone think Maresca can cut it at City considering he failed at Chelsea?

Bayern can’t stop him leaving. He has a release clause it’s just a case of putting the money on the table and walking away.

The most likely answer is that Kompany doesn’t want the job. Either he doesn’t want to replace pep or he wants to stay at Bayern and keep building what he’s doing there.

Or maybe the club thought he wasn’t ready or just had to make plans with Maresca before Kompany was on the radar after this seasons success.

If Kompany wanted to be City manager and City wanted him, he’d be the replacement.

I agree, I should have phrased it as Bayern don’t want him to leave. As long as Kompany wants to stay, and Bayern are satisfied with the results he will remain in Munich.

I do think Bayern are the likelier to be the ones to part ways in their relationship. Kompany will have the demand of a CL final appearance on his objective next season. Wouldn’t be surprised if he were available summer 2027.

Haha failed with that circus! Some fans can’t see whats in front of him!

Yep I don’t want Maresca but looks like we getting him! But between Iraola and Maresca there is only one is half capable! Just because you can look at it all with some impartiality way up all the cons pros! If you think Iraola is better you’re wrong!

I think Vinnie wanting to come back is a very optimistic opinion. He may well have moved on in his life, he’s also canny enough to know that following Pep (hopefully years off in any event) may be a similar poisoned chalice to following the piss can

I know it’s Sly Sports, but an interesting watch.

All 3 of them think Pep is GOING.

I don’t disagree. I feel like a Pellegrini type appointment was always inevitable though. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the rumoured Maresca contract would expire the same summer as Vinnie’s new Bayern one..
Yeah that is some coincidence, he will be in charge for sure at some point. Im really not a fan of Maresca but I guess its what it is.

I think the players are expecting him to leave or at least are prepared for it. That’s what I’m getting from all their replies when asked.

I think Pep is either staying or hasn’t made his mind up yet.

So it’s entirely plausible people around the club are telling Gaughan and others the mood is that he’s leaving without anything actually being decided or confirmed yet.
That's what I took from Bernardo's and particularly Guehi's responses. Albeit, Bernardo's question didn't have a timeframe beyond what might be implied.

But it is obvious there has either been discussion on it, or there hasn't but they are swayed by the rumours.

It is weird, that in the week that Pep has specifically reiterated his stance (that there is no change to the default of him staying) 3 or 4 times, we find ourselves in thos position where there is even more doubt and speculation than before!

A pre season tournament and a conference league is an achievement?

Maresca did well at Chelsea then was ousted by football's most mental board. The fact he put them in the Champions League places and won a Club World Cup when this is the level they're at now only highlights that.

Never really get all the Maresca narrative.

Luis Enrique is better and not coming. Vinnie is maybe better, a City legend, and also not coming.

The next name on the list is probably Maresca. Iraola is way more of an unknown quantity and Alonso made a worse job of his only top level club (no offence to Leverkusen).

Jackson is very much on the fence. But yea, the other two seem convinced.

Reminder. They have been wrong before. They will be right one day. But I take it with a pinch of salt.

1 last parade.
In front of the new North stand.
Inside the Coop Live Arena.

It will be really disappointing if Pep makes an announcement that he is leaving before the parade or at the Coop Live Arena after the parade when he speaks to the fans. It will put a downer in the day. If he doesn’t say anything, City fans will assume he is staying. Hopefully he will confirm at the Coop Live Arena that he is staying for the final season of his contract.

If Alonso was nailed on for Liverpool, that was understandable, but why did the club prioritize Maresca over him ?

I haven't seen the post match ones (other than the one he walked away), just the pre match ones, hence my question mate.

I’ll try and find it again. The video was either on Facebook or Instagram.

I’ve been scrolling through both of them this morning looking at City videos of yesterday.

It might be the pre match video, but I’m not sure?
