"Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it."

Ouch. Not a good weekend for them getting panned by villa and xabi Alonso going to chelsea

No idea how much money they have to spend in the summer? Did they shoot their fat last summer spending hundreds of millions or can they rebuild?

I listened to a girl in social media, not a Liverpool fan by the way, defending him. Him and this ... intervention of his, for the "greater good" of the club he plays for, right? She's not the only one out there, it's incredible. "Mo Salah has high standards". Really? He's been performing way below "those standards" the whole season. He's clearly part of Liverpool's problem on the pitch. He's smart, he knows this. So what does he do? Changes the agenda, pointing the finger elsewhere, in typical Liverpool fashion. Becoming an even more serious problem for Liverpool off the pitch. For ... the love of the game, of course. And Liverpool...

The "identity" he's referring to is Klopp's, not necessarily Liverpool's. We do remember how it ended between those two (Klopp, Salah), don't we? Not to mention, you speak to older Liverpool fans, prepare yourselves for some very interesting views. Regarding the kind of football they witnessed in the past, also regarding the football they prefer...

But that's hardly the point here. Last time I checked, Mohamed Salah is a professional football player. He is not a consultant, he is not a DOF, he is definitely not a coach. Is there a procedure missing within Liverpool's organisational structure? Like a meeting between the head coach and Salah? With the former asking Mo about the strategy he, Salah, prefers for the team to adopt? So that they reach an agreement, not "negotiable", about the football suitable for the team? Is that what's all about?

Bottom line: I, I, I, me, I, I, me, my, I, I, I, I, I. It's about him -and this is the language of a populist. The guy is ridiculously out of order and they are a mess. No sympathy from me, long may it continue...

If any City legend said that, i'd fully expect a huge deserved backlash against him. That goes far beyond an entitled player taking a snide dig at a manager, that is a total disrespect of the club itself and legacy ruining comments. it's the dippers though, their cult is strong, they'll probably sing his name even louder and go with it.

The comment itself is complete bullshit, claiming the heavy metal football is what he knows how to play, Salah never ran, they had a midfield of carthorses specifically to accommodate him and TAA not doing the defensive work, what he means is, everybody else should continue to do the donkey work for him, that doesn't work when you're over the hill and cannot offer a threat anymore.

If Slot had any balls and wanted to stamp his authority on that dressing room, he'd drop him from his last game and refuse him the final appearance.

They still have the Coutinho money.

Taking that sentence in isolation, I spent years hoping a City legend would call out Swales but the only one that did was Francis Lee and he managed to get us into an even lower division.
I was also hoping a city legend would call out Stuart Pearce but they'd all fallen asleep due to the football on offer.

Salah is and always has been a grade A ****.
Great player, but one the most selfish players I can remember.
When winning its all about him, as soon as there’s a contract on offer he starts talking and never shy of blaming other when it goes wrong
Probably gutted that whatever he achieves they will all still love Slippy more

Well, I am incredibly biased and narrow-minded, so yes, I agree with you. I despise the area, I loathe the football team, and its moronic sub-culture fan base, and I detest Klopp and his White-Cliffs-of-Dover teeth. I believe Liverpool to be the absolute cesspit of England: a festering, putrid compost heap of urine and fecal matter, where the inbred, slack-jawed inhabitants from all the world's sewers are dumped unceremoniously, together in one big stagnant pool of phlegm and vomit and left to fend for themselves.

Disaster is one way of describing it, yes.

Can’t really disagree with that

What a difference 12 months makes, coasted the league took the last few games of the season off and went partying in Ibiza. Spent eye watering amounts of money last summer and now sat in 5th with Salah spitting his dummy out at the manager wanting Klopp ball back.

Their collapse has been brutal considering everyone thought they were going to walk the league with their new signings in the Autumn. Holding onto the likes of Salah and Van Dijk for too long when they should have been signing their replacements has put them on the back foot.

The Irish thumb is saying on his channel that he’s been given the news by ‘a top tier source’ (but he doesn’t want to name them and get them in trouble) that Slott is out and a new manager to be named very shortly. He’s banding about the names Hoeness, Naglesman and Iraola.
Apparently it’s all down to their lord and saviour Salad who has triggered this with his statement.
Which Hoeneß, Uli or Dieter?

They’re both well into their 70s now. Nothing like experience, I suppose.

Thanks! I don’t post here much but I still read this thread sometimes. Shame we had to go and shit the bed against Sunderland. I bet we’ll do it against Spurs as well. I am taking some schadenfreude at Liverpool’s failures though.
