I would let his being sacked by Chelsea put me off him as our next manager. In the same way Xabi being sacked by Real, deZerbi by Marseille, Vince by Bayern etc, wouldn't put me off them if the club was bringing them in.True, all we know is that Chelsea sacked him for failing from their perspective.
It’s possible minus Lijnders though who’s out of contract anyway. If it were to happen think Maresca would have a say in replacing Mancicidor and Buenafortuna. It wouldn’t be Maresca and Lijnders though ,too many cooks. What do we think of the idea of Enzo Maresca comes in as joint number two next season then next year him and Pep L partner us after Pep leaves, Enzo manager and Pep L number two, possible?
That would be the most negative aura move ever lol. He's a first team manager now, he should believe in himself. He wouldn't and shouldn't want to be a number 2, and if he did, he clearly isnt ready. What do we think of the idea of Enzo Maresca comes in as joint number two next season then next year him and Pep L partner us after Pep leaves, Enzo manager and Pep L number two, possible?
Jack Gaughan though :-(
Agree entirely. That would be the most negative aura move ever lol. He's a first team manager now, he should believe in himself. He wouldn't and shouldn't want to be a number 2, and if he did, he clearly isnt ready.

What do you think will happen within a week just out of interest.
I agree btw, if he is leaving, ahead of the villa game will be the time to announce it.
If he isn't though, I can genuinely see nothing being said, and we carry on as usual. The issue is, the speculation has created this expectation of an announcement either way.
people do retire more so if comes from spain his work is done and big thank you to himHis fitness coach has been with him since Barcelona.
That he is leaving gives me doubts Pep is staying.
Fuck sake. Another one who knows fuck all about geography.Looks like there's a real strong chance Pep is leaving this summer.
I hope not but if so, going from him to Maresca is an enormous, unnecessary drop off in quality. I know any other manager is a drop off but this seems like a greater one than it should have been.
I know there will be some who will be all for it, but so were fans of the team from Salford with Moyes.
As long as he doesn't appoint someone like David Moyes when he leaves it's all good.
If it happens, I'm going to get someone to do that for me.Imagine if he extends. Turbo wanks all round!
I think not, simply on the basis of his continued evasion of the direct question - even in the afterglow of yesterday's win.He is staying.
He answered the question at least 3 times ahead of the game. After the game was inappropriate to ask imo.I think not, simply on the basis of his continued evasion of the direct question - even in the glow of yesterday's win.
Alonso would be a gamble. He’s had one amazing season using a formation we don’t use.Got to admit, I’d be slightly sickened if the club knew Pep was going and have chosen Maresca but let Alonso go to Chelsea.
My best guess would be that they don’t want major change and Maresca being ex-City will be a smoother transition. But stinks of a safety move rather than a gutsy one.
