TV Series

I can see why you say that and the dialogue could have been more realistic and some of the performances verge precariously on caricature but and its a big but, the story fairly rattles along and its not without some tension. I am enjoying it. Is it Soprano standard? No of course not but compared to lots of todays dross its certainly worth a try.
LEGEND on Netflix by no means perfect but still good tv. Weve enjoyed all six episodes.

Huge coincidence as a mate & I had just finished watching this series & are now in London this week for the cup final weekend.

Have ended up staying in a hotel in West London, Acton & we walked down a street which looked very familiar, but we couldn't quite put our finger on why. Went into a pub on the corner of Market Pl & discovered from the landlord its actually the street set location of the Green Lane's Turkish gang scenes. Converted all the shop fronts, stuck an old school BT phone box & ordered some classic 90s motors. Apparently this all happened at the end of last yr, which seemed a rather fast production turnaround for Netflix & perhaps the less polished feel.

For you Yellowstone fans
There's a new spin off advertisement on a bus I read earlier.
DUTTON'S FARM with a photo of Beth and her hubby.
Didn't catch the start date but one to look out for.

Watched about an hour of The Roast of Kevin Hart. Very funny.

I can’t believe I’m writing this but you are right, it actually was funny.
Haven’t said that for years about something on TV.

I have no interest usually in these American roast shows. Find them cringey and awkward.
To be honest I haven’t really laughed at a comedian on TV in years since, in my view, the woke culture killed comedy.

I’m actually stunned that this was allowed.
There were jokes about all the taboo subjects.
Fat, racist, peado, gay, suicide etc…. It was like a set from 20 years ago.

Shane Gillis was a great host on it.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who isn’t offended by jokes on any subject.

The Roast of Kevin Hart - Netflix.
8/10.

Spot on. Takes a lot for my jaw to hit the floor but found me picking it up more than once. Obviously bits of it were very forced but parts of it were absolutely brilliant.

Just finished the latest episode of From. Every episode now better than the last. Proper fucked up

@GX Blue I would add my admiration for The Expanse, takes a while to get used to the world that has been built but it is a truly excellent series. The creators were also very keen that the show should be as scientifically accurate as possible too so you should appreciate it on that front, they try to show just how lethal and uncaring space really is.

One or two others have probably suggested these but two of my favourites over the last 10 years or so are The Americans and Mr. Robot, both worth the time it takes to get invested in them. I would say The Americans has one of the best finales I've ever seen, maybe not a typically triumphant ending, but a real emotional gut punch that stays with you long after the credits have ended. A brilliant show that was critically lauded but never really seemed to generate the hype it deserved.

Similar for me, was shockingly funny but after about an hour or so it started to become a tad repetitive for me, wasn't it on for over 2 hours? Far too long.
Didn't help that I didn't know who the fuck most of them were.

I loved the expanse. It needed another series to cover off the end tho. The last series was too rushed and too many random dangling story arcs ( the dogs etc )

Yes, I’ve heard of The Americans and it has good write ups so if The Expanse doesn’t work out I think I’ll go for The Americans. Cheers for the heads up.

Yes, I’ve watched Mr Robot a few years ago. Agree it is good.
