Pep to leave at the end of the season

He has experience with winning a league title in a very demanding league, playing possession based attacking football, where Leicester were expected to do well.

I know the point of your joke but on a serious level, winning the championship as Maresca and Kompany did, is actually decent experience for a top club in any league.

There's a line in 'The Boys In Blue' that says "Maybe in another generation, when other lads have come to take our place...". Back in the late 1970's I couldn't imagine anyone talking the place of players like Bell, Tueart, Barnes, Corrigan, Hartford, Booth, etc. I never thought we'd see a generation of players like that. But we've seen legends like Kompany, Lescott, Zaba, Barry, Yaya, Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko, Fernandinho, Rodri, Ederson, the two Silva's, KDB, Walker, Haaland and so many others.

It's just been the most phenomenal experience and we should be eternally thankful for the indelible memories that Pep has given us.

Really enjoyed reading that mate. What a run we have had, and how lucky we have been that he chose us.

It’s literally come out the last week of the league. The 2 year contract was at first rumoured to be only 1 with an option for a second. From that moment it seemed it was a way to keep the questions about pep’s future to a minimum.

The club have lined maresca up and got the deal done around Christmas with talks starting before that. Of course the club knew:

There is never a good way of handling these things. See klopp Liverpool. City have already got their replacement. It’s been handled as well as could be

Im not so sure , I think we have become a bit of a powerhouse, getting the right replacements in is key. Hopefully we gel well and absolutely batter the league next season
