Pep to leave at the end of the season

I hope this thread doesn’t turn into the nauseating outpouring of grief the Dippers had for Klopp.

Pep could stay here for many years if he wanted to but he doesn’t, he wants to leave!

If I ever had chance to meet him I’d thank him for the many moments of joy he gave me, wish him all the best for his future and then get ready to welcome the next Manager.
Kind of agree, but it’s also a big deal. 10 years in anything in life has an impact, especially when it’s all constantly positive. Him leaving is a big deal, but I do also agree it shouldn’t be like grieving. He has given the largest portion of his career to us. It should all be a celebration.

I remember being sat in a car with an Arsenal fan (a sensible one) when it was announced Pep would be joining City. He just said, 'well we're not winning anything now' how right he was.

We've had 10 wonderful years under him, a style of football, great entertainment, many trophies and wonderful players who probably joined because of him.

He stayed longer than I ever expected, but all good things come to an end. Wish him well and as we have always done support the next man.

With you on this but my word is this hitting hard.

Pep has given us things we never even dreamt about and done it constantly.

The fear is that we never see anything like it again in our lifetimes right? So we do what we’ve always done and support the club and the guys that wear the shirt but it’s going to take some getting used to accepting the future.
No choice, as I am sure you understand if you love City you stick with them, its what we (well most of us) do.

....And Chelsea are a complete & utter basket case so its time to gove Maresca some time to see what he can do with some money and stability.

But the court of Bluemoon have already deemed he's not good enough and want him sacked immediately

Pep said, live on interview, that he had 1 year left, this was not 2 weeks ago - why would he have a sudden change of heart? Smells of bullshit.

Too many outlets are reporting this is happening including The BBC who won't report anything unless it's been confirmed to them by someone from within

"Change is the only constant"

He was always going to go one day, and more likely next season where no doubt the whole season would have been pressured by the fact that hes leaving

I'm calm but gutted, but it is what it is, whoever comes in has got an unreal squad to work with

Exciting times however you look at it

Most goals scored, most games won and most trophies won of any team in Europe’s top five leagues in his time at City.

Don’t think that third to last point is right. Forest, Liverpool twice, United twice and City have had unbeaten CL/EC wins.

He didn't have a change of heart, he just didn't tell the truth to journalists. Why would he? The club have handled this impeccably as usual. Getting him to sign until the end of next year basically meant he didn't spend the whole of this year being asked about his future. If we knew he was leaving at the end of the year, the noise surrounding the club would have been unbearable. Every time we dropped points, there would be accusations that Pep's future was a distraction and the players were no longer playing for him.
