1 | James Trafford - 2025/26

I was a big Donna fan but in the late season, I think it's been hard to deny the problems his limited ability with the ball causes.

It's at least a discussion worth having for next year, if Trafford suits Maresca more he should play him.

If Maresca comes in then surely Trafford is number one. He was so strict about playing out from the back at Chelsea that Donnarumma has no chance.

Managers evolve and Maresca will need to as well. If Pep can use Donnarumma then any manager in world football can.

Not to mention he’s the best in the world.

If Willy C is his assistant, I'm guessing he'll be involved with that decision too.

I doesn’t really matter. Donnarumma with his contract, style of play and position is not a player you can just sell off in a week if the new manager decides to change direction. None of the clubs we’d sell to and can afford him actually want him. He’s here for the next 4 years minimum.

Plus imagine Maresca picks Trafford and then on top of all the other pressure of replacing Pep he has to deal with Trafford having a bad game and everyone getting on his back for swapping keepers. Just isn’t going to happen.

Can loan him to italy pretty easily IMO. the fee wasn't too bad and if we get 15-20 the following summer of something we're not too far from making our money back.

If we'd paid 50 it would be different, but we didn't so I don't think that's an issue. the wages are harder, but not impossible for an inter or a napoli.

At the very least, I hope that having a new manager will convince Trafford that it's worth another year.

Dies anyone actually believe donnaruma is gonna be fucked off in the summer ? He ain’t going anywhere so sorry to disappoint
Some of the things said in this thread are delusional at the best of times. Now Pep is apparently leaving, it's gone overboard.

Am I the only one who thinks Trafford looks equally as shaky as Donnarumma with the ball at his feet? Not sure it's that clear cut. I've been impressed with his general goalkeeping though.

He’s no Ederson and does make errors, but he’s much better than Donnarumma with his feet, especially finding players with longer passes or just clearing it.

Let's bench Donnarumma and Dias, sell Gvardiol and Rodri, and maybe Haaland too, because he only scores... The next rebuild will take ages then. Like at United or Chelsea or Liverpool (before Klopp) or Arsenal.

Fortunately, the people at the club ain't bench/get rid of all players internet weirdos like to question.
