If not Maresca who else is there? There are no obvious alternatives that I can think of. It certainly isn't an exciting appointment, but he does know both the club and English football. Maybe excitement isn't everything?
That's "inside out" compared to pretyy much every other manager avaialble. Best of all, it acted as a 2 year job interview.
Maresca is a continuity candidate. The whole club from under 11s to the women’s team plays possession based football. We have the best Academy in the world playing that way. The club will not undo all that hard work at all levels. So Maresca was the obvious choice. He knows everyone so there will be no disruption in any department. I am optimistic it will work.Think he deserves his own thread.
“IF” he takes over i am really confident and i think he’ll surprise a lot of people.
“Maresca, who won the Club World Cup and Conference League while securing Champions League qualification during his only full season at Stamford Bridge.
He worked directly under Guardiola during City's treble-winning 2022-23 campaign and played a key role in the club's academy prior to joining the first team.
He left City in 2023 to manage Leicester, whom he guided to promotion to the Premier League in his only season”
He’s a winner
He know’s the club inside out
Let’s fucking have it!
We’ll win the Treble next season!!!!
Feel like he probably knows the club outside in. Wouldn't be surprised if his security pass gets rejected at the door at this point.Kalvin Phillips knows the club "inside out" - shall we give him a new contract?
But managing Chelsea is like trying to climb Everest wearing nothing but Crocs on your feet, with avalanches halting any kind of progress you can make.People are forgetting he had 1 win in 7 games before walking from chelsea. So lets not get carried away that he was doing amazing at chelsea before walking.
Yes, best pick out the period of big fall puts to suit your narrative.People are forgetting he had 1 win in 7 games before walking from chelsea. So lets not get carried away that he was doing amazing at chelsea before walking.
Im not pushing a narrative. Im pushing both sides of the argument.Yes, best pick out the period of big fall puts to suit your narrative.
Only one side in that post.Im not pushing a narrative. Im pushing both sides of the argument.
