Is there a definitive source as to whether he was sacked or walked away? I keep seeing different things regarding that. If he was sacked, how can they go after him financially?

I’m really not so sure about this “stop gap”/“continuity candidate” talk. I think the club is now big enough to compete for any manager, yet showed no interest in Xabi Alonso, Iraola or any other big name coaches who would be available in the summer and the chairman had clearly contacted Maresca while at Chelsea which they would not have done had they just considered him a quick, temporary fix. Let’s show our new guy some respect here - he is the club’s choice, they obviously had big respect for the work he did here under Pep and fully expect him to see out his contract.
