He didn’t inherit the 2022-2024 team though. He inherited a team that didn’t win anything. That’s like saying Maresca will be inheriting our treble winning side (which he hopefully will, just a different treble)

He improved them in terms of style of play from the previous season. Also casually glossing over the fact that he worked wonders at Leverkusen, beating Bayern to the title and losing only one game all season in all competitions
 
The Jack Gaughan article from earlier today is a good read. I can post an archived version of it if allowed, presumably not though.

I presume there will be books written about Pep's tenure here which will be good reads. In addition to the couple already done by Pol Ballus/Lu Martin and Marti Perarnau.

If Palace don't do us a favour and we lose the league by a couple of points, I hope he'd like to win it with this newly built team.

Oh now Man City have piped up about questions to pep now he is going and they’ve let allsorts of bullshit questions for 10 years! Get lost!

I’m pretty sanguine about it to be honest.

They are favourites to do it.

Win and we take it to the final day. Pressure on them more than, if not as much as, us.

Draw/lose and it’s over. They win it while not playing, which - while of course, it doesn’t really matter how you win it - is never as good as having it confirmed while you’re on the pitch in front of your fans. And it also means we don’t have to suffer the inevitable drama of some final day VAR bollocks snatching it from us and gifting it to them. You just KNOW that would happen.

We’ve given it a great crack but if we fall short we fall short. Dropped too many gettable points, so it is what it is. And then we can concentrate on giving Pep the send-off he so richly deserves and steal some of the attention away from the Gooners for good measure.

We’ve won 2 cups and we’re at the end of a run we could only dream of 30 years ago when we were getting relegated under Ball. It’s all good. The shock is dissipating a bit now, let’s hope for a good game tonight and hope the crowd are in good voice for Pep.

He's not letting the facts get in the way of his story that's for sure. City havn't been found guilty yet his article insinuates just that & questions whether Pep's legacy & success is valid. We did play with 11 men per game for the last ten years right?

Do we have any reason to think Alonso wanted to come to City to follow in Pep's footsteps? Particularly after how things went in Madrid?

City's a really, really attractive job, but following Pep is going to be a turnoff for some guys. They'll be more interested in replacing Enzo, if it comes to that.
 
The club have leaked the news. It’s the best way to do it & time. This club do not make silly mistakes.

The players & fans will be rallied for our last 2 games.

Perfect time for pep to go too. He’s won us everything & just won us 2 cups when nobody expected it this year

He leaves on a high.
It’s also time for a new city
