AFC Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Lost the league at Everton. To win two cups this season, particularly the FA cup which I still consider "massive" was a joy and a fitting way for pep to go.

They were fresh and played very well but we were awful. Once again we wait too late to play with some sort of intensity. Happened too much this season. But how the fuck do you only add on 30 seconds

Poor performance against a motivated and hard working mid table team chasing a Europa league spot. Frankly half of the team are not or no longer good enough. Lots of work to do whether Pep goes (he is my view) or stays
They're Chasing a champions league spot and are a decent hard working skilful side.

Congratulations mate. Been a while coming for you bunch and you’d have to say yourself that you probably began to fear the worst after losing at home to Bournemouth and losing the “title decider”.
But we just didn’t have it in us and numerous decisions didn’t go our way.
Can’t say I’ll be wishing you luck against PSG but I hope you enjoy that day.
Cheers mate. Agree I feared the worst and I know we're a team only a mother could love but the heart wants what the heart wants.

But City in a transitional season getting a couple of cups is pretty fucking good!

Oh well.

At least we’re out of our misery now rather than prolonging the agony.

Total news media blackout for me for the next few days, and final day I’ll be at work - 37000ft over Europe somewhere so won’t have to witness the Gooner love-in.

Tonight summed up much of the season pretty well really. Flat, sideways, lethargic and just looking short on quality compared to what we witnessed in previous years.

Not going to slate the lads - we looked drained and done in. Disagree with those who said in the matchday thread that we didn’t look arsed - I thought we did, just knackered after a long season and not quite good enough to do what was required.

Onwards and upwards next year.
Need a good summer in the transfer market, but if we get that right, reasons to be optimistic despite it being the end of an era.

And the idiot with the Arsenal tears bottle can do one.

Well, I could definitely tell one of those teams was fighting for the title...

Starting Kovacic along Bernardo and Rodri in a game we need to win wound up not working out, but the subs weren't very effective either.

I have to be honest, the title was done after that draw to Everton. Momentum was against us from then, yes Arsenal have had too many dodgy decisions to count but they’re champions, nothing we can do about that now.

Need something confirming from the club about Pep so we can start to move on. There is a championship team in there plus some new blood in the summer. The future without Pep looks miserable, yes, but it can always be worse. Let’s be thankful for the 10 years of consistent success he has given us where we have been able to proudly (and accurately) sing ‘best team in the land and all the world’.

Bigger, better and brighter days ahead. ONWARDS

That was utter dogshit felt like the players didn't want it at all tonight.

What the fuck rodri was doing all night looks like he's past his best. Time to sell him I think.

Happy with 2 trophies though since it's been a rollercoaster season
Rodri looked like his mobility scooter had a drained battery, keeping him on was madness

Well in a season of "woulda, coulda, shoulda", this game exemplifies why we are not hoisting the trophy. A listless performance in the first half with two players who should not have been starting. And a seeming and always lingering lack of urgency on the part of our players to score and/or score a "knockout punch". If the rumors are true and Pep is leaving, I would hope Maresca would favor a more direct style of play and utilize some of the tools we have to offer a faster paced game strategy.

Tough watch that, we looked very old and leggy out there tonight against a superb Bournemouth side.

Wasn’t expecting to win it, but it would have been nice to take it to the final game and keep Arsenal honest.

We’ve also had to deal with the shitshow of Pep leaving which kind of sums up the performance and last 24 hours
