Pep to leave at the end of the season

I’m more confused than ever after his post match interview.
I’m still expecting him to leave though, just announcing through the club rather than them cunts in the media.
It’s the disconnected tone he’s using for me.

Khaldoon’s got a job on his hands if he wants him to stay.

Christ, here’s Sky Sports body language expert, Micah Richards.
Micah is proof that your ability as an analyst/intelligence is irrelevant - its just about building a character to be popular/have an angle

the difference between tv analysis and what the football journalists discuss on podcasts like Totally Football and 93:20 is a joke

im listenting to jamie redknapp talk complete bollocks to fill time

We just look gassed and those January signings are the only reason we came remotely close. Arsenal just wanted it more and it's really difficult to beat that momentum.

I remember the treble year, we were absolutely unstoppable, you think of the way we beat Arsenal 4-1 at our place and the performances of De Bruyne etc. It feels very different now and we've just whimpered out tonight.

Pep's personal life this year has maybe taken its toll too with his divorce etc, that must weigh on him. The bloke really deserves to take a break and play some golf.

Pep has for the most part, papered over all the poor recruitment decisions, over the last 3 seasons especially. Concerned we're not in for a proven top level manager that will attract the best players.

I’ve honestly gained more respect for him for what he’s achieved with this squad this season than any of his previous successes, here or elsewhere.

At any given point companies have a list of candidates as contingency incase one of the SLT leave.
The same is true in football.
They do the same with players.

It’s not like they’ve gone fuck peps going let’s see who needs a job.
They would have had a short list and most likely touched base at different points over the years.

This might be a stop-gap for Vinny or someone else. It might work out and he’s amazingly successful, I hope he is.

But this is a conscious choice, not a choice because he’s available and willing to do the job.
Also Alonso was available until recently and he’s been more successful than Maresca.

At the end of the day the city board know more than me.
But I stand by my opinion that it’s underwhelming.
Well yes of course it’s a conscious choice. I think he’s very qualified, the club know him, the players know him and fair play for him to take on the poisoned chalice of following someone like Pep.

I took his comments as him saying - yes I’m leaving but I wasn’t going to tell anyone whilst we had the league to play for, now I’ve got people to tell in order… the chairman, the players, the staff and then it’ll be announced.

1. He was barely given players for his tactics. Side note - have you ever seen a team win a trophy in December lol

2. Conference league is not a trophy for a club like Chelsea. Maybe for Crystal Palace, but he won it with Chelsea….
As I said before you can only win what you’re in.
