Pep to leave at the end of the season

He clearly respects our chairman more than the press charlatans like Holt who couldnt help themselves.
As always he wants to do the right thing and having spent the day getting used to it i feel this is a fair time ( its never good to lose a legend) for all as lets face it weve just played a team as good as any in what will be a very open forthcoming season.
I would also urge, hope that the club pushes for a decision re the charges as the new boss does not need that millstone around his neck and nor do we.

Pep’s quotes scream trying to regain an element of control in the narrative. Wouldn’t put it past him to stay as a final fuck you
What they scream of is a media who were desperate for their story and they may have jumped the gun. I think perhaps he will go and he wants to explain his feelings with Khaldoon before anyone else. However, we do not know this for sure.

I would agree with this, but there are two reasons why I think the club may be tempted to keep him if it were at all possible.
1. The World Cup means this summer is the worst possible time to change manager, pre-season will be almost non-existent.
2. They may have the option of Enrique, Kompany etc. in the summer of 2027 if they have any doubts about Maresca.
Yep, both fair points. A third would be that we've come pretty close this year and he's the most likely candidate to get us over the line next season. Realistically, City won't be calling the shots here; if he wanted stay for another year, they'd happily go along with it despite the need for a longer-term focus.

Nothing is clear, and it would be stupid to push Pep out.
And you really think players and staff are left wandering until the last day if we’s staying/leaving? Business and emotions don’t go together, many things must be planned ahead of next season.

The bedwetting starts again. 3 games in 6 days, including an FA Cup final win and with the title now over some now want Pep out. Incredible stuff.

He wanted to control the game so packed the midfield. It didn't work tonight, it often hasn't worked this season. That's what happens when you lose loads of players and have to bring a new squad together.

The mistake was made after the treble and again with the 4th in a row. It is what it is, we have had a great season and pushed Arsenal despite our inconsistencies.

We go again next year. Hopefully with Pep, but in great shape if it's without him.

Time to let him go. He wants to leave. It's been a sobering few years for him in the premier league and the champions league. Europe in particular has been awful. A new chapter begins.
Watch the press conference. You don't know what he wants. Perhaps he does not. I believe him when he says he has been entirely consumed by the season.

Imagine if he did stay it would make every single one of them look like the grade A cunts that they are. Cmon baldy do it ;)

Well he's said all along he has one more year, it's the media shitehouses and whoever has been shit stirring behind the scenes that caused this shit storm.
If he stays the media will call it a backtrack when he's actually said he's staying all along, in public anyway.
I hope he stays but no idea where that will leave the other bloke if he's been promised the job.

This threatens to become bad PR for serious club City tends to be. Understand Pep wanted to announce in his own terms, but this just looks sloppy and clearly affecting the whole squad.
Remove the bandage, announce Pep leaving, Enzo for next season, organize party next Monday or whenever, and end speculations.

It’s weird all the world knows he is leaving and he won’t say it why

The media came out with the story, not the club, so not sure how it's bad PR for us.

I really think he's conflicted about what to do and maybe he's still thinking.

For what he's given the club, he has earn't the right to take his time and make the best decision for himself.

Why didn’t pep just tell them we when a game left I have to speak to my chairmen then after the Villa game it will be announced

I personally think it’s time for some fresh ideas. Pep Guardiola is the greatest manager of all time in my opinion, but all good things eventually come to an end. I’d like to see us evolve into a slightly different style of football now.

For me, Luis Enrique would be an exciting option, but unlikely he’d leave PSG rn, so I’d personally give the job to Kompany. What he’s shown at Bayern proves he’s got real tactical intelligence, and he looks like one of the next generation of top managers capable of building fluid, attacking teams. The fact he’s also a club legend just makes it feel right.

It’s pr because they could just say nothing is decided and when it is it will be when the season ends! It seems Khaldoon just leaves it all to pep to be our pr department!
