Will we win the league this season? No

I have faith. I heard Arsenal were spying on one of our training sessions earlier in the season.

Came up short in the end. Need to get the summer right and go again next season.

Happy with the 2 pots and at least we took it to the last week (even if we wanted it to go to the last day).

I'm not unhappy with 2 cups. But for me it's a huge wasted opportunity. I know it was a season of transition but nobody expected such a weak contest for the title, 82 points to win a title is very low, this squad should be hitting that.

every other would be contender that hasn't won it should be bitterly disappointed it wasn't them when a title is won with that kind of points tally.

If it's won with 95+ points you hold your hands up and say, we are not good enough to compete with that. But not the low 80's. Liverpool finished third on 82 points the last time we won the league.

Dropping 9 points to the bottom 5 teams is the disaster that has cost us.

Wasted opportunity or bad luck? Another season with injuries to key players. New players not good enough.

It’s gone now just like the fa cups and champions leagues we lost. Those were missed opportunities aswell.

All we can do is get a squad ready to go again. This season is already done. Get a few good signings, release a few and see if we can fix the small issues. Bit of luck and no bent pgmol and we go again.

My only gripe is with the officials and the league. The club don’t get treated the same way as Liverpool/arse/dips. We just don’t so it’s fucking hard always being perfect.

I hope that changes after 115. It’s impossible to continue to beat the system.

It wasn't bad luck dropping 9 points to the bottom 5 teams. All of those games we got what we deserved. Repeatedly capitulated in games this season. Doing it once can be bad luck, doing it somewhat regularly isn't bad luck.

But that is you dismissing the issues. We did really well to win anything this season. You could see the struggles in nearly every game and the injures to defence and Rodri.

We failed due to a collective set of circumstances. Hopefully next season we don’t have those.

Every side gets injuries, we haven't had an abundance of them this season compared to the rest. Rodri situation we all knew he would be a shadow of himself this season. Dozens and dozens of posters said so last summer so there is no chance the medical staff and Pep were caught off guard by that, they decided not to act on it, that's bad preperation more than bad luck. Remember we played him 3 games in a week when he was barely back and when Pep told us he couldn't play every 3 days and then he of course got injured and was out for a substantial period again.

The struggles we've had have been poor tactics and poor form nothing to do with bad luck.

I disagree. It’s never black and white. Everything you mentioned played it’s part but my analysis of the season is also true.

A collective set of circumstances. So many issues we did well to win anything undercooked.

Let’s put that right over the summer and see how we get in next season. This is a club that completed football, broke all previous standards. The failings and the bad luck is evident. A team is hard to build. We have done it before and will do again.

Ultimately draws cost us. We weren’t ruthless enough in-front of of goal. We defended poorly. We lost or drew too many games in the 2nd half after being in-front at half-time.

The poor draws.

Spurs 2-2
Forest 2-2
West Ham 1-1
Everton 3-3
Bournemouth 1-1

Bar Bournemouth, we conceded 8 goals against poor and average teams.

The pundits did say we would slip up at Everton and at Bournemouth. They were right.

Chelsea as well with a last minute scruffy equaliser. They'd done absolutely nothing all game, but we got complacent as we've done numerous times this season and didn't bother killing them off to our cost.

I think on the balance of it, we just weren’t good enough. Far too much inconsistency and some niggling injuries throughout the season.

Arsenal are probably more relieved than happy, almost pissing away a 9 point lead with 0 pressure, I’d say they deserve it but I don’t believe they do, and it’s a shame teams might try to replicate their “insult to football” brand of playing next year. They managed to limp just to the finish line and with a helpful push got over it.

Also, maybe it’s just me but I’d rather we lost it today than on the last day of the season, I can’t imagine the state of the media if that had happened.

There’s always next year blues! Two trophies as well, not the worst season we’ve ever had!

Probably loads more but that Everton game was the one. The league went that night.
Others will remember better than I do but the shocking non penalty at Newcastle, the foul for the Spuds away game goal and the challenge on Doku in the Derby definitely impacted our season.

The Everton game away recently, we had a penalty shout but for some reason Sky never showed a replay. Add in the ref overruling the VAR recommendation v Wolves (no difference to the result), we’ve been shafted, there’s probably more but I can’t bring them to mind.
