That offside flag going up in a milli second because Haalands little toe was potentially a millimetre offside is the best example yet of how we’re reffed differently

Pep has known this for a long time

And they let their attacks play out when it looks obvious the flag needs going up. Semenyyo’s deemed offside effort didn’t get much coverage and play starter pretty quickly after it, if that would have been a team in red they would have stopped the game to look at how they could give it.

The question should asked by the club why does one lineman wish to put his flag up while the other one does not? Funny they want consistency but two lineman do the opposite! It’s like that lineman was an Arsenal fan worried we score!

I believe it was the same linesman in different halves, wasn’t it?

Maybe he got told to put his flag up if it was obvious, because Guehi got injured from letting the obvious offside play on, so he deemed it so obvious as to necessitate the flag.

Bit tighter than he thought it was, methinks!

Did they ever put the lines up afterwards to distinguish.

We have been reffed differently for some time now but it used to be far more subtle.

Blocking the passing lanes when David Silva was trying to thread balls through took a long time for people to realise.

Waving play on giving us an advantage when in reality a free kick was the better option but giving us a free kick when an advantage should be played.

Booking opposition keepers in the 88th minute for time wasting but adding very little time on.

Allowing three or four defenders one dig each at the same player but booking none of them.

Plenty more I could note down but it’s now far more obvious, look at the same liner last night allowing play to continue with probably the most blatant offside of the night yet Haaland immediately flagged when even the commentators suggested he might have been on as it was so tight. We have players booked for spending 10 seconds taking a throw but you can take 45+ seconds without sanction if you want to take a long throw. And then of course all the dubious decisions against us but go in favour of, this season Arsenal.

Pep said many seasons ago we won the league without help from anyone, he and most of us knew what was happening then and it’s going to continue unfortunately. We need to get back to a level where there decisions, especially in tight games, don’t count against us as we banging in too many goals.

Webb said “while there could be justifiable reasons to judge this was not handball”

How ?
It's quite easy to deliver justifiable reasons. PiGMOL do what they've been doing since they subverted the appropriate and correct use of VAR as demonstrated in other sports - they make it up to arrive at a preferred outcome.

Chances are we wouldnt have done anything anyway, but very odd how early he blew up last night. So much so Donnarumma was going to go up, but we told him to stay back!

Not needed. Linesman always right if there’s no goal scored!! It’s a law!
If he's shoving the flag up the millisecond a player is offside by a hair how would they know that a goal wouldn't be scored. Joe Mercer would tell yer that he's seen every way a goal can be scored - but there's always one new one every season. But we mustn't forget that PiGMOL linos are blessed with second sight!

He looked on side with the player closest keeping him on.

We've seen Ederson and defenders injured because the linesman refused to flag a clear offside and yet, in such an important match, he flags straight away.

Bent.

Good post and I agree with almost everything except why should City have to be exceptional to overcome the bias? The onus should be on PGMOL to sort themselves out.
But unless the club speak up then I doubt anything will change although if we are exonerated over 115 maybe that’s the time to fight back.
The early flagging of Haaland was dreadful
