Pep to leave at the end of the season

If Pep was minded and determined to leave, he had the perfect opportunity at the post Bournemouth press conference to say so. Instead he says that he has a year on his contract and wants to discuss his future with Khaldoon.

IMO, if Pep is absolutely set on leaving at the end of his current contract, and City really like Maresca, then we should break now, but if Pep is open-minded about his future, then we should stick with Pep. It is very confusing for fans to read, because the press statements are so strong, and we are not fully informed.

You would think that the media would run their stories by City before going in so hard with their claim that Pep is leaving but there does not seem to be that club-media relationship, possibly because Khaldoon runs City differently to other clubs i.e., he is a chairman with multiple roles, and it is genuinely difficult for journalists to understand City's position. In short, I think, like Tolmie, that the press story is Maresca sourced, and as such fallible.

This is the point our chairmen is busy doing a lot of more important things! Its
Him I guess makes the final decision it’s why our Pr is piss poor and it’s pep who is mainly our spokesmen! Certain clubs are in top of a lot of bullshit that the media come out with report! The media against us run a mock with lies continually

Maybe that wasn’t how he wanted to announce it. I would imagine that this leaked story has angered Pep and the city board and the result of this is one of two things: push ahead with the planned announcement or come up with a new exit strategy, which could involve an extension.

Maybe it is as simple as Khaldoon wants to be the one to announce it, thank Pep on behalf of the club, and do it right.

And Pep is bleeding here in these fucking press grillings, buying him the time to do so, while trying to juggle maintaining focus on the two trophies we still were in with a shot of winning.

It's couple days max now, I'll be patient for that.

The whole 'break now so you get the manager you want in rather than wait a year' scenario, I could buy if we were replacing Maresca with Pep. But not the other way round imo.

Pep may have signed the last contract always noing he was going after a 10 year stay. The extra year could have been to try and stop all the crap that went on when Klop said he was leaving

The club and Pep will be well aware of who made the leak. Football is a small world. If it is Enzo and his team then he won’t be rocking up here as manager.

I hope a point of view of making the press look clueless Pep stays, but and with a heavy heart I think the time is right.

If we take Pep at his word that he hasn't fully made his mind up. I don't think the whole Maresca thing and naming the stand after him are wrong.

It would make sense that the club plan and make arrangements if he decides to leave.

Although I fully expect he has fully made his mind up and just doesn't want to say in a press conference

That's sort of how I see it. Maybe Maresca working with Pep for next season world be a logical thing to do.

But it doesn't seem clear cut to me that's he's leaving.

So, why not yesterday with nothing to play for now did he not just say I’m leaving. Why the comments about needing to speak to the chairman, at one point nearly shouting it. If this is just the club wanting to announce it in their own time, think we have put Pep in an awful position the last few weeks. More to this…

Whoever leaked this rumour or fact has definitely destabilised our team at a crucial time, there’s no way players weren’t affected, even Pep looked frustrated, fans also said they felt “meh” because winning at Bournemouth was bitter sweet knowing Pep was going.Shit timing and if it was from within city whoever was responsible should be booted, but to be fair, Pep should have been more forceful rather than leaving it up in the air. A very sad end to the season, Amazing we got two trophies, but really league should have gone to last day to make the villa game an even bigger celebration that it will be now. It’s a shame, but we move on

We live in a world of misinformation created by MAGA and the Red cartel are part of that shitshow.
Pep has been treated appallingly and literally thrown under a bus by the cunts .

1 more year ?

If he isn’t going why did he just kept saying I have a contract! He could say I’m staying I’m going nowhere and all this reporting are lies I’ll be sat here next Season!
