Chavs had a pre tax loss of over £260m. That isn't sustainable especially as Alonso will want his own players in too.

Can't say I'm Fernandez's biggest fan; he's a nasty little ********** hut we need one of them.

We were very aggressive in the transfer market. That's a nonsense claim. A squad wins you titles, not just an XI.

We have one area of doubt which is the midfield, where there are a few question marks. I would look to bring in a midfielder, and I would bring in McAidoo into the first team squad.

Aggressive in signing people but not as good as we used to be bringing in top talent. Reinjdeers, Marmoush, Gonzales, Savinho, all been brought in and don’t take their chances to establish themselves and haven’t improved the starting 11. Instead Pep chose three of the old guard to go up against an aggressive Bournemouth midfield last night.

Tactically we are losing one of the best thinkers and coach in the history of the game. We need to offset that by having the best personnel on the pitch not squad fillers.

Khusonov is decent on the ball and will get better,Guehi is okay.From what I've read Reis is very good.

RB, DM, CM and possibly 2 attackers/winger who can play a few positions across the front line.

I'd personally look at letting rico, Marmoush, gonzalez, Reijnders, Savinho go!! Along with Stones, Ake, Bernardo

I agree 99% with this, the only one I'd consider keeping is Gonzo,the reason being he was showing a lot of promise until Pep bought Rodri back. Maybe Pep sees stuff he doesn't like in training but it seems strange he can go from first team starter and doing well,to someone who he doesn't trust full stop. Depending on who we bring into midfield then he could be a useful squad player. The others have been very underwhelming to say the least and when he brought Savinho on last night, I knew we were done. Stop buying 50 million pound players who are average to ok or players who play 1 good game in 3. We need top drawer players with elite frame of mind, but we have to pay for them.

Fair point. I think Khusanov is a little underrated and Reis looks decent from the snippets I have seen of him. Donnarumma also not in Ederson's class regarding distribution which is also a factor.

Bournemouth's goal reminded me of Brighton at home and Forest at home, their players seemed to have too much time to pick a spot, minimal closing down.

Seems crazy to say this with Rodders in the team but we need a proper defensive midfielder who does the graft. Given so many soft goals away this season.

Viana needs to be brutal in his position if he wants to make a mark
Savinho, Nico G, Marmoush, Rico, Kovacic, Ake out
We used to rotate every game and not see a drop off

Pep picks his run-in team about 2 months before the end of the season and you have to play yourself out of it. He does the same thing every year. This year was no different.

If non city fans can recognise his performances even without any media attention then you'd expect city fans to know how good he has been. The vast majority of them do, there is only a few that still share your very outdated opinion of him. Been the best right back in the league for 18 months now.

Agree. Khus is only going to improve too. He's not going to be the same player from the previous season. Interested to see what Reis looks like. He seemed like the only competent defender when I went to a Girona game last autumn.

The level of recruitment since the Treble season has been underwhelming to say the least, we have two midfield players at full backs. A right and left back with power and pace are required, Nunes has done a good job and is not the answer long term either is 0`Reilly who is a midfield player. At-Nouri played for Wolves in a back five as a wing back, no sure why he was purchased.
The midfield has no legs, at least two players needed if Rodri stays, Elliot Anderson and Morgan Gibbs White, Gibbs scores goals and is a team player, we can all see Andersons Quality and tackling and passing. Wharton from Palace great passer but again lacks pace or could replace Rodri if he wants to leaver for Spain.
The goal keeping is covered, long term Trafford is the better prospect as with the centre halfs.
We need to start shopping in John Lewis and M&S and not Aldi or Lidel for a top quality right winger.
The creative side with Cherki and if Foden can sort himself out we are okay.
We stood still after the treble for to long and we need to gung ho.

Disagree RE O’Reilly and Nunes. Easily been two of our best players this season. Issue is the midfield. Just need a right back to give Nunes cover.

I don’t think you can look at our season and say the fullbacks were the issue.

I really don't believe Rodri will ever be the same player he was before his injury and he was a world beater when surrounded with quality such as KDB
If we received an offer close to £60M, I'd sell
And there is still the Grealish issue!
Reijnders and Savinho aren't going to make it in the prem and Marmoush should go as well

So if we lost Rodri, Savinho, Reijnders and Marmoush along with Ake, Stones and Bernardo, we need two quality centre midfielders (Anderson hopefully being one) and a centre forward who doesn't mind being second choice

We also have a big decision to make on goalkeepers

More questions than answers is what I see.
I see another inconsistent season but without Pep's cup magic. The departures and question marks are unlikely to get resolved in one world cup window but hopefully we make a solid start.
