AFC Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

There was another dubious off side given against Haaland. The linesman threw his flag up instantly. Should have let the move play out. It was the opposite for a Bournemouth clear offside, leading to Guehi getting clobbered
It’s cheating and Pep went crazy, probably another reason he is off

Disappointed...of course. Surprised not at all. So many factors beyond control, the fixture log-jam, the difference in recovery time, the blatant pigmol interference, behind-the-scenes uncertainty over Pep's intentions etc. It was our "bridge too far" imho

A sad case of Bournemouth being much the fresher team. Having 10 days to prepare and us only a couple was just too much. Very surprised that we only made 1 outfield change to the lineup from the FA Cup final especially with the options we had on the bench. Add in the increased specualtion over Pep's imminent departure and you end up with this result. Bournemouth really should've buried us with the chances that they had to score.

Agree. That game last night isn’t what cost us, a point away against a strong side would have been fine in other context.

Taking 1 point from two games vs Spurs, throwing away leads vs Brighton (twice!), Forest & West Ham, those are the games that we have paid the price for.
And Donna's walkabout in the dying seconds at the Emirate is a toss up with Guehi's back pass at HIll Dickinson as to which game squandered three points. But yer right. None of the teams yer mention were ever gonna give us a lesson. We shot ourselves in the foot too many times.

I don’t think we have seen the transition yet, we have just watched the dying of the light.

Both domestic cups and 2nd place could be viewed as a incredible achievement with this squad in a years time.

We have so many ok/good/meh players, it’s going to take a fair while to look anywhere near what Pep achieved in his first 7 years.

I hope linders and kolo go with him, they have done very little to address our weakness, or indeed speed up our play and general fitness.

f peps legacy is to stand for anything, then it has to be we mature as a club and start acting like a proper heavyweight .

Best in class or not all is the preferred approach from now on.

sorry but that’s a load of bollocks. So much so I can’t be arsed elaborating .

Thinking about full-time the other night and another reason to blow early would've been if Bournemouth got a winner at the end (Donna AWOL etc).

A winner for Bournemouth and they would've been just a point behind Liverpool. The pressure would have been on the Dippers to beat Brentford or risk missing out on Champions League.

Maybe Haaland should have carried on and scored , then VAR would surely have to check the offside
