But we didn't win?

Meaning the game is absolutely meaningless.

The payers didn't turn up last night in what was the last chance saloon.

What makes anyone think they'll turn up on Sunday. It will be played like a testimonial.
Please don't tell me that the 79 in your username means that you're in your late 40s?! Because, if you are, how did you get so entitled having witnessed the years and years of utter shite we were dished up week in week out before our owners came along? Or did you not support us then??

No in all seriousness it should probably be:

Trafford
Nunes Stones Guehi Ake
Rodri Bernardo
Foden Cherki Doku
Haaland

Trafford, Stones, Ake, and Bernardo all subbed off so we can give them a round of applause.
Let’s hope savinho gets subbed off so we can give him a round of applause as well as finally have given up on him.

RAN

Gonzalez
Bernardo
Rejniders

Savio
Marmoush
Foden

ah, because we were once shit we can never complain. Classic.

Nope. That wasn't my point at all. The point was, by complaining NOW, after winning two trophies and not winning the title by probably one game, makes you look entitled and as if you no longer appreciate where we are now to where we were then. Sugar coat it how you want. It's sad

Where we once was is completely irrelevant and the players all look pissed off last night also, is that entitlement?
or in fact what you want to see because they want the title back and need to be hungry for it.

We have big issues if the players and fans a like are going to start acting like other clubs who are just happy to be there.

I’m not convinced Trafford is leaving and I hope he starts. In fact, he may well be our #1 next season!

You aren't in touch with reality. The reason the players didn't look on it is likely down to a number of factors, including:

- Fitness issues/injury niggles e.g. Rodri, Haaland, Foden

- Ridiculous fixture pile up at the end of the season e.g. we literally played a major cup final 3 days before, and another critical game 3 or 4 days before that.

- New players still bedding, or not having played in such high pressure games before.

- Constant media attention around Pep leaving, charges etc.

- The actual news about Pep leaving that miraculously broke the day before the game you think we played so badly in.

These guys are human, they think, they get tired, they get fatigued, they may self doubt.

Do you really expect them to just deliver season after season no matter what changes around them?

True fans support their team through thick and thin, good times and bad. Moaning like a little bitch just because we didn't win that title is, once again, sad!

Back then our expectations were to beat United twice. But also back then we didnt have a striker capable of banging in 30 goals a season or a balon d`or midfielder.

It's nothing to do with entitlement.

When the owners pumped in billions of funds to our club the goalposts of expectations shifted. And so have mine.

Why is it such a touche thing for older fans to be slightly disappointed or call out a bad performance here and there??

Who said anything about the players not looking on it?

Maybe you meant to reply to someone else.

Last season similar comments were made about Doku and this season he improved a lot. Savinho's 22. You are impatient.

1. The owners haven't pumped in billions. The club/company has generated revenue from success that has allowed us to spend more (sounds like you actually believe the charges)

2. Spending any amount of money doesn't guarantee success. It absolutely helps yes, and it has helped, we have dominated the league for a decade. But, it in no way means that you can win every single trophy, or even game.

3. It's perfectly acceptable to call out bad performances here and there, but some of those involved in this discussion, have zero sense of understanding WHY some results are poor

I’d just throw the youth on, a couple of academy players let them experience playing a premier league game. Have stones and Bernardo in the line up and just surround them with academy / young players

Another must win game, not for the points of course, but purely to send those two City stalwarts (but hopefully not God, he can fucking well stay and finish the rebuild job he's started) off on a high. Anyone saying it doesn't matter needs a head wobble.

Think you have lost the plot pal. Rodri being injured has zero relevance to entitlement.
It does.

Expectations are based in reality and last season we finished on 71 points and Rodri was injured. If you go from 71 points to 78-81 and you win 2 trophies, and you are dissatisfied then you need a rethink.

City have almost recovered. With 1-2 tweaks, this side could win the PL and CL. We are unbeaten in about 20 domestic matches. We've won 9 out of the last 11 games and drawn 2, The side that finished the season is better than the one that started it, and arguably we are better than Arsenal. We are top of the 2026 only Premier League table.

Can't you just enjoy the 2 major trophies we have won ? The last one merely 2 days ago !!

In what world would this be a good idea ‍♂️
