Its a second tier trophy, we don't recruit to win the FA cup, or League cup. We recruit to win either, or both the EPL and CL, or the lot.

I know what we recruit for and what our aim is at the start of the season but no English team has ever won everything.
There are 4 trophies up for grabs, if you qualify for Europe. We competed well in 3 of them.
2nd best team in PL. The injuries caught up with us mid season and Pep tried to address that with Guehi and Semenyo.
 
I imagine all the fringe players will start (Rico, Nico G, Marmoush, Savinho, Ake) plus Bernie and Stones for sentimental reasons. Probably Phil too. Then maybe Haaland, Doku, Cherki coming on as subs mid second half.

We came within some dodgy officiating of winning the lot. It could be done, it will need us to see some serious talent come through from the youth setup.

There is zero reason to start Rico Lewis. Nico, Mooch, Savinho, Ake, Bernardo, Phil and Ait Nouri and probably Ruben I'm sure will start. But we are hoping for a Villa victory so they will be nursing their hangovers on Sunday, yes?
 
Might as well throw Kalvin out there and see what he can do. And Rico is definitely getting some minutes.

Its a little ironic that Villa losing and liverpool winning will mean that the PL will get an extra team in the champions league
Imagine what CL money would be worth to Bournemouth or Brighton.
 
Looks like they’re going to win the Europa. They will probably still be pissed on Sunday so I doubt beating them will be a problem. Shame it doesn't matter.
 
Winning this gane will cost us a good few million quid.
If we win, villa will likely finish 5th.
As they are about to win the euopa cup, that would mean 6th place gets in champions league so we would be splitting the pot with more clubs.
 
Be a very tough game. Villa are in fine form. Obviously it’s a dead rubber but be nice for Pep to finish out with a victory.
