Passed test event
Can you not go 2 hours without eating?Have gone down this route in the past. They gave me a certificate to say I was able to bring my own food in. Expected it to last for the season. Turned out I needed to ring up and arrange it before it every home game, lol. It's a joke.
I also missed out on the free food. Was hoping for chips with chilli which is the only gluten free option I’ve previously found but choices limited tonight.I hate to sound like an FOC but I left early.
Sick to death of coming to City hoping (but only half-expecting) to be able to get some hot food only to be left hungry time and time again.
It's not hard to cater for coeliacs but City seem to find it impossible. It affects 1 in every 100 people (which means this would affect about 35 people there tonight) but from going to City tonight you'd think it didn't exist. Hot food options were: pies, burgers, or hot dogs. All stuff I can't eat.
Alright fine, I'll get crisps or popcorn to tide myself over. We get told we can't use the complimentary voucher to get snacks. I get offered the vegan burger because the staff clearly haven't received any training on food intolerances an allergies.
Nice to know that they don't bother catering for an autoimmune disease but do cater for people who choose to be vegan.
I thought to myself, 'Alright, it's just a test event. Availability of anything will be limited, just take your pictures with the trophies and see which former players might be knocking about for photos'. Turns out the "former players" advertised were just gonna be interviewed on a stage and that was about it?
So I've essentially paid £5 plus travel fees (twice for my mum) to go and sit outside for two hours, hungry and bored and wishing I'd stayed at home. I'm only annoyed because of the food situation because they don't provide any coeliac-safe options and they also don't let you in the ground with your own food.
Felt excited to be a little part of history and to help the club get things ready for Pep's leaving do on Sunday but I'm tired of feeling like an afterthought. Like I said before, people choose veganism but I've got no choice about my diet. The club have been a bag of shite on this since the start of the season and it doesn't look like it'll be getting any better.

I can and did in the end, but when the event runs from 6pm til 8pm is it not too much to ask that they put some chips on or something? I came straight from work. Can you not go 2 hours without eating?
They've stopped doing that chili and chips near me (North Stand). Was gutted when I saw it'd gone over last summer.I also missed out on the free food. Was hoping for chips with chilli which is the only gluten free option I’ve previously found but choices limited tonight.
Ended up getting a second pint of Asahi that I had to pay for so I experienced the new ordering machines.
Also left before the end and had to do the quiz on the way home.
Hadn’t noticed they’d stopped doing it as I rarely have food at the match. I’m also in the NS. It’s something that needs raising with them really because, as you say, it’s not a choice having to give up food with gluten. They've stopped doing that chili and chips near me (North Stand). Was gutted when I saw it'd gone over last summer.
I’m a little sorry we didn’t look into moving from SS3 315..Views are fantastic, much better than SSL3 in my opinion. I think the atmosphere is going to really improve as a result, regardless of the fact it might not have been done explicitly with that in mind as we would have liked.
But quick beers on the concourse and a load of safe standing under that roof. It's going to spread noise around far better than the SS and I can see it growing in popularity year on year.
