27 | Matheus Nunes - 2025/26

Assuming he plays in all three, he’ll smash through the 4,000 minute mark and have played 50 games this season.

Great for his rhythm, confidence, and sense of belonging, but at the same time completely unsustainable, so we need to find someone (Reis/Khusanov) to help lighten that load.

Just gets on with it these days doesnt he, you dont even realise hes there

Seems to be a 7/10 every game and I like the fight hes showing now hes more confident. Couple of times last night hes gone and grabbed the ball back off one of their players, and he doesnt shy away from a little scuffle if there's one going

Not sure i saw the faultless performance others saw. But I'm in no rush to go find another right back thats for sure.

My motm. Faultless performance. Locked his side down entirely, all Chelsea threat came down the other side even though cucurella is typically the more threatening wingback. Brilliant 1v1 defending multiple occasions.

I made him my MOM at the game yesterday….thought he was superb along with Guehi and Khusanov.

Just got back and watching a replay on IPlayer and just seen the really important header he won on 20 mins.

Put in one hell of a shift tonight. Completely outnumbered down our right tonight, Semenyo didn't once track Truffert which left Nunes 2v1 constantly but still did a good job.

Will ne Interesting to see how things change for him with no Pep. Seems he is more than willing to play fullback for Pep but will he want that with Maresca? Will Maresca want him at right back, would he be open to playing him in midfield? Personally hope nothing changes, he's a brilliant right back, i see no better than him and I think he takes another step up next season.

He's managed to get into the Portugal squad by playing RB. I couldn't see him getting in that midfield of theirs

This should really be him now.

Pep talked about Matheus being used as holding midfielder more in future recently.

I think after he resurrected his career at City and delivered stable results as a RB, now he is ready to return in midfield and become one of the best midfielders in football..

During his first season he was always loosing physical duels, slipping a lot, didn't know system and teammates that much and etc. But now he is one of the senior members of the squad, has experience, has regained confidence, knows system well, so why not ?

Especially when futures of Rodri and Kovacic aren't certain and Bernardo has already left.
