For me that's the poorest squad in a long time, both in terms of technical ability and experience.

No real quality off the bench, no game changers. A lot of runners and not a lot of footballers.

I agree. Little to no creativity or technical players in the squad. Quite a few players out of form or barely played this season as well.

He’s not been picked because he’s not earned it. I’m glad, too.

I’m not talking about foden he doesn’t deserve to go poor season,but there is players being selected under pressure from England’s sponsors in my opinion then as we have known certain players picked because of who they play for and the media having an input as well,whole thing is a shambles..

I do love the drama around these announcements. All the questions about players who ultimately won't see a minute of action anyway!

If rumours are to be believed he has picked a squad with like for like replacements enabling him to play the same style and tactics, with some alternatives should we need it.

Burn, Quansah, Madueke, Toney all unlikely to see more than 10mins of action. If Foden had have gone same would be true for him, he wasn't going to start. Palmer would have been a bench option too.

We don't have enough technical players to benefit from them anyway. We are better sticking to what we are best at, which is high intensity football and attacking with pace. Kane drops in, feeds the wide players in behind.

We are more likely to win sacrificing possession against better teams than trying to go toe to toe with them.

Feel for Phil, but he's got plenty of others he can get to. A well-deserved summer's rest, and he may well be leading England out at the Etihad in the Euros.
