Pep to leave at the end of the season

We have a big squad so I’m wondering who’s going to be on the chopping block we know Maresca will be honest to players and say you’re not part of my plans. He’s had that bomb squad at Chelsea. Where they were left out and told to get a new club
Reijnders, Marmoush, Ake, Savinho and Lewis possibly

In fairness Chelsea had like 87 players.

I like Marmoush, really hoped he would be a key player for us at this point, but his none performances in the FA Cup Final may be the end of the road for him. In the first half there was a bit where Rodri quite clearly bollocked him for out of possession/pressing/not pressing. Couldn't believe what I was seeing. Bloke has hardly featured all season, gets to start the FA Cup Final and wasn't even putting in a shift. Inexcusable.

Arteta? You want to watch that brand of football. No thanks.
My theory is he has done what he needed to do to get it over the line. He is up against the best manager in the world.
I expect him to play more expansive now Pep won’t be around and he has silverware in the bag.
Time will tell but seems he will do anything to win. Not a bad trait imo

We had trouble landing our first choice transfer targets with Pep !! I imagine most won't be walking over coals to come for Maresca.
But ... he knows us, Peps philosophy and is tactically astute.
An off season of watching rivals get shiny new toys and hoping he can get a tune out of what we've got and keep them happy.
Roll on the cricket and golf.

Nothing to do with the media really and I don't find it concerning that fans have an opinion on the first new manager in 10 years.
There's nothing wrong with fans showing concern about us appointing a manager with no track record of managing a big club like City. I think we all had visions of a big name coming in when pep eventually did resign.
It's up to Maresca to come in and win the fans over not up to fans to leap for joy at his appointment.
Put simply we are a big club who are used to winning things and it looks like we are about to appoint a new manager who has won nothing.
Umm, I'm no massive maresca fan but to say he has no experience of running a big club and of winning things is actually not true

Which player did we have trouble landing ?
I dont recall any,but I do recall us walking away ,if the players value didnt match ours.

Greedy and lazy. Not a fantastic combination.

Tbh, I'd take that bottom one at this point.

Not as a hope he might stay btw, think we are obviously beyond that. But just to not give them the pleasure.

Do we know what time the press conference is?

1.30pm I believe.

I still don't think Pep will care about a send off if it's going to prevent Bernardo and Stones being the centre of attention. The club will honour him another way and he'll be back to take our applause some time in the future. Not ideal, I'd want to give him a send off on Sunday personally - but he's that sort of character.

Rodders pissed off with Savinho the other week too, you are fcuked with players like that.
Both need to be gone imo.

Maybe the parade?

I don’t mean to sound heartless Bob and I’ve known you since you were a teenager, but you may want to step away from the internet for the night and chill out a bit.
Thanks mate. I think once the news drops I will be alright. Then I can process it a bit in my own way. It's the waiting that's the hard part, haha. Thankfully well rested and just getting on with work this morning. It's a sunny Friday and a Bank Holiday, lots of reasons to be cheerful and thankful. Can't help but feel emotional about Pep, sadly.

I always think ake puts in a performance and even more so than current John stones who most on here seem to have a man crush on and yet has barely starred for even longer than Phil foden
I agree. Nathan will be a big miss. He's safe and reliable, it's just that age and injury have caught up with him. Scored some important goals too.

I know exactly how you feel and what you mean. Once we've got clarity at 11am we can all find closure in our own way and move on. Xx
