Seat Counters 25/26

I wonder how the algorithm works exactly? How does it maximise FOMO?

Once it goes up again does it ever exceed that initial increase again or is the trend of increases always down?

Then there’s still thousands of fans that have been overcharged, and more that have been priced out of attending, which will affect them attending future games.

I think there is thousands of people in Greater Manchester that just can’t afford to go anymore and they’re priced out of the habit. The sort of people that would have picked up the 2,000-3,000 available tickets vs Palace, or maybe have gone to the semi final vs Newcastle that was half empty, if the pricing was done right generally.

It’s not just selling out one game, it’s about making it affordable in the medium to long term so non-season ticket holders can and will part with their money 5/6/7 times a season.

Those in the poorer parts of our metropolitan county won’t be able to afford £100+ to take their families multiple times a season, and then we have to look at empty seats.

It’s already a disgrace this has happened during the tenure of our greatest ever manager.
The tickets are cheaper next year, you were specifically talking about the Villa game, so if it sells out they have got it right.

Someone explain wtf you lot are on about with the algorithm. I mean, I know what one is, but not in this context
basically there is some kind of algorithm that makes it looks like seats have sold when they haven't and even greys out whole blocks, to make people think they are going to miss out and force them to buy quickly

Inflated queue numbers, map showing less seats available at first and then miraculously hundreds appear later on are some examples.all to generate FOMO

Communication is important in selling tickets. As soon as the Pep story was everywhere, and the Pep stand, the tickets started to fly off the shelf. At least City thought to put ticketing links into the Pep Guardiola stand article.

I would put a leaflet on every seat this Sunday about the season ticket prices.

what if it's windy it could be like argentina 1978

You’re missing the point about longer term habit. If very few games and just midweek are affordable, it’s not going to get people coming week in, week out.

We’re not selling out CAT A games this season, Chelsea there were loads left for example.

With the capacity going up by 7,000 next season, there’s no chance we regularly fill it at the frozen prices for even Cat A games - outside of the Derby and title deciders (if we are in one).

No I'm not. I'm sure thats an issue, and the departure of Pep will not help that as new managers take time to bed in (if they ever do). The club have removed the daft restrictions, theyve made many more STs available (even if some people dont believe in flexis) and theyve hopefully addressed the midweek game issues. As I said in the previous post, lets hope that works, but we'll not know.

If it doesn’t sell out Sunday, it’ll be a disaster for saying bye to Pep.
It will. Sorry for all the people slating the club for their marketing ineptness, but it will.

There are still many games coming up next year to put in special offers and pricing to tempt people to fill in gaps.

Yep, looks like it will, but the demand is there to say bye to Pep now, the demand for £56 wasn’t there before the announcements today. The club needs to be very very careful.

Midweek tickets for lower categories are cheaper, as it stands, this very game, should it be on the weekend, will be the same price. They have frozen ticket prices and then reduced midweek premier league games.

If they sell out Sunday, fantastic, but there will be thousands of young blues from Gorton, Hulme, Wythenshawe and some of the less affluent areas of the Metropolitan County that won’t be there, because their parents can’t afford £80+ to take them, when it should be half that.
