Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

I don't understand the whole talk regarding the fee, and how he might be too expensive. We have known what Forrest want for him for months, so I hope we don't walk away because he is too expensive. We are either ready to pay it or not, he is not exactly short on interest from other clubs.

What I don't seem to understand about modern transfers, is all the articles which mention X player has agreed personal terms. This means nothing unless a transfer fee has been agreed with the selling club. I hope that a figure has been agreed and all it needs is for medical and contract to be signed.

It depends on where you decide to play him, he could be an hybrid of Barry/Yaya he has so much ability he could become a great holder or a box crashing midfielder. With his mind set he will play where ever he is asked to play.
Anderson is a really good player and I would love him at City. But, he's absolutely nothing like Yaya in any way.
If Anderson ends up as good as Barry, then he will have a fantastic career. Yaya was a truly elite footballer and there has never been a more complete or gifted midfielder in the Premier league era.

The lad is only 23 and his potential is very high only time will tell . What I can remember iof yaya as not a city fan was that he could pick passes and drive through midfield. If Anderson is allowed to play as an 8 rather than a 6 think he has the skill set and energy to transform your midfield

Yaya Toure could play defensive midfield and dictate play. He could play centre half in Champions League finals and put Christiano Ronaldo in his back pocket. He had the touch of David Silva, the vision of KDB. He scored free kicks from 35 yards. He never missed a penalty. He could literally pick up the ball and run past every single player on the pitch before putting it into the bottom corner. He scored heavy goals.
Anderson has the potential to be a good player. He will never ever get to Yaya's level. For me, Yaya is the best midfield player to ever play in the Premier League. I can't think of another single midfielder who could do what he could.

And at Andersons age Toure was was still at Olympiakos and was about to move to Monaco

He wasn't the "best midfield player to ever play in the Premier League" at that point

Yes you're probably right, Anderson probably wont reach peak Toure... but then again, he could

What we do know is that he's a fantastic ball winner, has endless energy, is never injured and now since Periera moved him forward we've seen hes got incredible technique, a great shot and can put in fantastic crosses

Our midfield lacks bite, this lad epitimises what we lack without compromising on technical ability expect from a Man City midfielder

We made a mistake missing out on Rice, Anderson could be the next one or he could be the next Caicedo, its a risk but sometimes its worth taking

There is nothing in Anderson game that makes me think he will get remotely close to Yaya.
Anderson has the potential to be a very good player. Hes never going to be elite Yaya level.

Kinda missed my point bud

As i said, you're probably right

But also you might not be, he seems like a good fit for what we need and what we lack

If we get.him, hopefully he rises.and gets better and we have a serious player

Is it just me who doesn’t get the hype about this kid?

I think you should show a bit more respect for the lad. He did fight in the war you know.
