4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

Unless it is an exceptional talent - the italian league is not a good barometer

Its a sub-par league and the standard of football can make an ordinary player seem better than they are
AC Milan finished 8th last season and have finished 5th this season. They’ve been crap all season long, and yet they’ve scammed European football. Very bad league

I've heard he's gone this summer.
Probably for the best as where does he fit into this team on a regular basis?

I said to my young lad yesterday - Tijjani is a ‘nearly’ player - he had several interactions that were ‘nearly’ good - a couple of shots, a couple of runs and attempted passes which just never come off.

Add in he’s a coward in any challenge and I can’t see him turning things around.

So they finished higher after getting rid of the supposed best midfielder in the league? Sounds to me like maybe they replaced him with someone who can be arsed defending. Or at least can be arsed more often.

Signing him instead of gibbs white looking like another mistake in a long line of mistakes in centre midfield

I think this more than anything else is what’s dragged us down in recent years
The crucial failure imo was opting not to spend £100m on a Bruno Guimaraes about to enter his prime, and instead ending up spending more on absolute dross. The club thought it could cheap out and instead wasted more money than the potential £100m outlay.

Do not be surprised if the same thing happens again this summer and we balk at the Marinakis valuation for Anderson and instead buy a midfielder that just doesn’t elevate us. I can very much see that happening, but I hope we’ve learned that it’s better to ‘overspend’ on the right player than collect bang average ones.

Clearly not the answer and unlikely to improve given his age. Surely going to be shipped this summer alongside the likes of Marmoush, Savinho, Gonzales.

he provided 15 goal contributions in overall..

If you look how many contributions Eze or Wirtz or other ones had, Tijani obviously isn't worse than them.
Eze had 16 :D
Wirtz had 17

And he also scored some amazing goals.

I think under new manager he should be given a chance.

We obviously shouldn't throw a player for the half price anyway. If offer is decent - then maybe but otherwise i think we can use him.

Maybe the player should be able to work it out for himself that shying away from challenges etc is not going to cut it at City. He needs to up his game - PL and Italy are totally different.

If he shows some balls. then maybe whoever will consider him worth carrying on with. Otherwise, he should be moved on as simply not strong or brave enough imho.

Cancelo was worse in his first season but in the second one he became one of the leaders of the team (one of the best players)
