I've not watched it. If it's a British programme, then that's very unusual, and not the norm these days.

We see old films and so on with people smoking, so it's not been banned from our TV screens, but it's a very noticeable habit when we see it because it's rarely seen now.

I was watching a video of a snooker tournament a while ago from the 70's, and it was like watching through a misted up lens, the smoke in the air was so thick with the contestants and audience puffing away.

No. Its not.

Seeing people smoke on TV in the UK these days is a rarity. I didn't say we don't see it, we do, but it isn't common.

Episode two of Silent Witness was made in 1997..

We've moved on since then.

Reminds me of a Cheddar Gorge holiday camp in the early '70s - we went with another family, our next-door neighbours.

Buster Summer Special, 'I'm Still Waiting' was number 1 etc... and the drinks machine was like a giant fridge - put in your shilling, open the door and take out one of the now-unlocked horizontally-stored bottles of The Real Thing. We tried to synchronize pulling two at once, but no dice.

Sharing a bottle of Coke when it's that hot is a serious test of friendship...

I was only 9, but Dave was 11 and much more the hardened criminal. Next day we were back at the same machine armed with his dad's bottle-opener and as many empty containers as we could find - sorted :-) .
 
Who remembers having to change their exhausts on cars every 2 years cos they were made from shite material

You never hear of some woman getting flashed at anymore like you use to.
I explained it's most likely something to do with every person has a video recorder in there hand or pocket.
