So what do we need in the summer....

I'd say we need a fair bit of stability given all the other changes. We only have 5 players from the Treble winning squad and we've lost most of our leadership team and big personalities in recent years.

Keep Ake and Rodri, if they leave on frees next season, so be it. The value they'll provide the team on the pitch and helping embed new players with the City ethos is worth more than any money we'd get for them.

We're in desperate need of another creative midfielder who plays in the middle. In the past, we've always had David Silva, De Bruyne, Bernado (early days), who could do this. Imo we've arguably signed too many wingers and need someone who can control play through the middle and give balls to Haaland.

I'd quite like to see Foden to step into the role Bernado played. Think he's got all the ability to do it.

Sell: Rico, Grealish, Savinho, Trafford (unfortunately), Nico Gonzalez

Give one more season under Maresca: Reijnders

Buy: Elliot Anderson, a RB, another creative midfielder

Starting 11 Next Season:

Donnarumma
Nunes - Guehi / Dias - O'Reilly
Anderson - Rodri
(Semenyo/Foden) - Cherki - Doku
Haaland

Bench:

Backup GK
New RB
Ake
Gvardiol & Khusanov (interchangeable with Guehi & Dias)
Ait-Nouri
Reijnders
(Foden / Semenyo)
Marmoush
New creative midfielder

This squad would be more than capable of winning the league imo. Marmoush hasn't played enough to find form. And likely no backup to Haaland would. So I don't see the point of selling him to buy another backup imo.

I don't think Phil has the engine or the steel to do what Bernie done particularly this season. The best we can hope for from him is a return to the form he showed a few years back in an advanced role which would of course help our chances of winning the league.

I'm a bit surprised some people don't rate Semenyo - he's scored some big goals for us I thought and has played a pretty big part in us challenging for the title. I totally get at times he's not looked great, but to me he feels like one of those players who works hard and scores even when he's not doing well. He will come good I think.

I'm wary of making a lot of changes after Pep - we need some of the old guard to stick around to make sure the new players know what the standard at City is. Players like Ake, Rodri, Kovacic all need to play their part on the training pitch and help Maresca stamp his mark on the club.

However, this season has had plenty of moments where we looked dead on our feet. In particular, the midfield has looked dire at times and we've made some bang average runners look world class at times.

I don't think we should be looking at players at the level of the Nico Gonzales/Marmoush/Ait Nouri/Savinho/Reijnders level. They aren't bad players, but if we put these type of players up for sale we aren't getting calls from PSG, Real or Bayern are we. They rarely affect games and as squad players they are fine but they rarely trouble the MOTM awards. We need to bring in players who are starters - not bench warmers.

I'm not sure who's available but we have to look at the likes of Anderson and Wharton - they will be very, very good players in future. Tonali is another I like and think he'd do well in our team. If Tchoumeni/Camavinga are available I'd look at them as well. We absolutely have to have legs in midfield and also top-level experience.

We also need full backs. Nunes has had a good season but has no competition and still has brain farts for me. O'Reilly has been superb but Ait Nouri isn't up to it - maybe he will come good but he feels a bit lightweight for me. Not sure who's available, but if TAA is we should move for him as he would have been world class under Pep's system.

Our forward line needs a really good think about. Haaland's breaking records but has games where he might as well not play. I don't know if he needs support or a tactical change, but he also has no competition. Again, I'm not sure who's available but if Marmoush can't play on his own then we need to look at someone else who can.
the wharton hipster obsession needs to stop. Palace are fucking average as shit and a lot of the time he is responsible for getting run all over.
