Liverpool invested heavily and look how that turned out :) i think they will have a huge drop off and i bet there scrum like tactics will come over huge scrutinty next seasonI think the banter comes from the bottle bloke and also Haaland's comments last season. At a club level Arsenal have seen City as the blueprint so I'd ignore anything else.
Re this being the ceiling of Arsenal - I'd doubt that tbh. They've been playing with the handbrake on due to psychological stresses and it may be that with the monkey off their backs the players will feel more free. Added to the Kroenkes saying they'll invest heavily in the summer, a young squad, an already established top class defensive unit and keeper, the foundations are there. I'm not saying this heralds a period of dominance or anything like that (just look at how the Dippers fell off a cliff when everyone was saying they'd piss the league) but I do think this Arsenal group has plenty of room to grow. I don't think the Dippers do. I think City do and sadly I think the Rags also do.
Re Spanish giants coming in for our players - Barca don't have a pot to piss in. Madrid would be an enticing option for players like Saliba but he's on a long-term contract so they won't be able to do their usual shitty coercing behind the scenes behaviour like they usually do and instead will have to write a fat cheque.
