The Labour Government

Yes I probably have, there is a reason for that too. When you are entrenched in any ideology, your mind gets that narrow it only allows what you agree with into it for processing. It would be easier for a blind man to thread a needle than for some on here as you put it to understand another view of issues. The very fact I have been called a “denier” because i am not convinced that humans are causing the planets climate to change. It changed before humans existed. Anyway it is an example of not allowing another opinion but for those that pray at the alter of climate ideology. I do not subscribe to any ideology, this allows me to process various ideas & not just reject them out of hand. However, I do have a weakness, I detest politicians of all the different segments of our system. I remember Billy Connolly saying “ the very fact someone wants to be a politician should prevent them from being one” he was a comedian too
That is my position. Go easy on the Ouzo.
PS
Do you understand syntax? I very much doubt it, along with your misunderstanding of pension schemes, I do not think you know anything about pension schemes that you haven’t read in the Guardian. You know, I actually feel sorry for guys like you
There is a mountain of evidence that humans are responsible for climate change, this can only be ignored out of political choice and not facts. Of course the climate has changed before and that isn't in dispute.

However, since when did the climate change so rapidly in the space of what, 100 years? The Earth's mean temperature is now the highest it has been for 200 years and the change is accelerating, these cycles occur over hundreds of thousands of years. There is also a direct correlation between human development and that change. There was basically no impact until the last 200 years, how can anybody say that humans played no part?

There are also other concerns because when humans spread and assimilate every single animal nearby comes to face extinction unless some dependency is established. Insects are a great example, insects do not depend upon nor are they hunted by humans but their habitats are destroyed by humans.

As a result 50%+ of all insects will practically disappear within the next 30-50 years and for me that's even worse than climate change. We can mitigate climate change to some degree, we can build AC units, we can build flood barriers and we can find new energy sources. We cannot mitigate the total destruction of the bottom of the food chain.

I don't know if you have this view but I would agree with anybody who says that it is impossible for us to do anything about this problem. The simple fact that we exist and live the lives that we do is the problem. We aren't going to give that up but the cold hard truth is the Earth itself cannot sustain it and everything else at the same time.

Just to interject and say that the earth won’t die from what we are doing, it will carry on as normal but won’t be able to sustain us.

We are an irrelevance to it, we will just die off or go and infest some other far flung planet while the earth regenerates itself for the next evolution.

What comes next is probably the age of the seagull or rat...

Harriet Harman at the Hay Festival...

“Stability is such a fusty and unsexy proposition, but actually, I think people just want to get on with their lives, get on with their businesses, get on with things, and chopping and changing looks kind of chaotic at the top,” she said, adding that a newfound stability in British politics was one of the promises of Starmer’s government.

It's not stability it's atrophy and it's atrophy that actively stops people getting on with their lives, ask anyone who feels they can't afford to start a family because they are so economically insecure. It's also political suicide and wilfully ignoring the electorate.

Early in their tenure Labour looked for something to unite the nation and because Farage and his client media were scaring them to death decided to ignore the fact that immigration is actually pretty divisive; they also chose to ignore the fact over 75% of the population supported wealth taxes for the super rich. Three quarters of the population agreed on something and they were too timid to go anywhere near it. And now they express frustration as to why they are so unpopular and they pedal condescending crap like this.

How are you processing ideas though and whose are they that you are taking into consideration?
Certainly not yours, simple reason you are probably a slave to some form of ideology or political agenda.
Let me guess your tick box narrow minded thoughts -:
Tax is good profit is theft
If the UK achieves Net Zero it will be beneficial for the climate
It’s right we import oil/gas but not to recover our own hydrocarbons
Mass immigration is good
English patriotism is racist
Inheritance tax is good
Not to have a enquiry into how the the rape gangs escaped justice is the right thing to do.
Providing,Housing, education, feeding/clothing & providing medical care for illegal immigrants before the indigenous population is the right thing to do.
Another 1000 people came over the Channel this weekend.
Does anyone on here actually understand how much added pressure that puts on local public services?

It’s ridiculous at so many levels isn’t it. We do not seem to have the wherewithal to discharge our obligations to the indigenous population, but get in a rubber boat land on the south coast & voila jobs a good un, hotel, money, food, clothing, medical care, all readily available.
What I really don’t understand is why these guys risk their lives to leave the panacea that is the EU, to come to Brexit Britain full of horrible racist English men with those racist flags with a Red Cross on it.
Beggars belief doesn’t it. ;)

I appreciate all that but, after a 14 year shit show, the way the RW media talk about this government you’d imagine there was absolutely nothing positive e going on, at all.
Austerity was ‘because of the financial crisis caused by the Labour Government’ and would take years to fix, apparently, meanwhile this government should have sorted the mess left by those 14 years, in five minutes…
The useless Tories were not in government 14 years, 5 of those were a coalition with the Lib Dem’s just saying.

I just want the Government to recognise that it is completely unsustainable.
Whatever they are doing isnt working, despite the millions paid to the French.

I doubt any person arriving on a boat in this way has a life that is great, but the pressure on public services is horrendous.

Yes but why come here, I thought the EU from which they depart was a far better place than the UK. Any thoughts as to why they risk life & limb to live here?

Wtf?! Were you hit on the head as a child? What made you respond to my comment with that?!

You do realise you’re just proving yourself to be exactly what you’re saying of others with that? Your list only shows what you’re a slave to yourself.

Personally I’m not arrogant enough to think I have an opinion that warrants saying on a lot of your list. Some I do, others I don’t know enough.

You wrote that long nonsense and posted it 15 mins into the match and on Peps last game. Are you a blue?

And who did you used to be, username wise? No new member would come in with the consistently unpleasant and hostile manner that you have, shirley

Strange how there was no pressure on the public services during the post war ''baby boom'' years when the UK coped quite easily with between 800,000 to 1,000,000 new births a year from 1946 to 1965

Perhaps it was because the Government actually did its f@cking job instead of blaming others.

In fairness I have a lot of sympathy for Tony. Whilst his wealth remains in the high tens of millions rather than the hundreds of millions (though who knows because he's never been honest about this) he's in that tricky place where he's not yet ascended to the ranks of the truly super rich. This wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the increasing number of plebs who are so sick of being rinsed by the stupidly rich that they would like tax reforms to start reversing that trend. How the hell is he going to get to where he needs to be if that happens eh? The little people have always been ingrates.

He's right about the current Labour administration lacking vision. Everything else he's said? Not so much unless you think the problem with the world is that it needs more unfettered exploitation by those who have regularly shown complete contempt for ordinary people.
