Savinho | May 2026 - Spurs linked again (p218)

Honestly I would take anything above £40m for him
Doesn’t really have any of the bits to his game that warrant a big fee (goals, assists etc)
Spurs are desperate now after the worst season ever
Whatever viana can get above £40m will show how good he is

Spurs could do with Ake, stones, Marmoush and reinders too
All would improve them

I was watching him on Sunday and he was going past players for fun, has good speed and control but he doesn’t look up for the final pass or shot.

I think it was Pep that said once if he gets that bit he will be world class.

The question is will he ever reach that ‘if’. He is only 22 but top sides can’t wait. Other sides often get the benefit of later development. We have seen that with Morgan Roger’s for example

He is a good up and coming talent. But now that we don't have the Pep edge, best we try to acquire the best RW player not at a top club.

Yeah i dont see him ever being a top player. However there are plenty of examples of players having similar starts to their careers and then blossoming later. So you never know 100%

The issue is we cant wait. Hes averaged a goal every 12 games for us. Semenyo is 1 goal every 2.5 games since he's arrived. With Doku being similar to Savinho (up until a month ago), they were a huge issue for us over the majority of the last few seasons....

He should be looking up at 13. "Only" 22? He's a professional footballer. Very good at specific aspects of his game and a complete amateur at others. No where near the required level for us. Sell him and wish him the best. Both the waiting on guys and the hanging onto guys need to go. Time to get deathly serious...

You’ve summed up my feelings really. Given we only paid £30 mill for him and we also have Doku and Semenyo, I’d be tempted to keep for another year.
The other thing is with players of his pace with the ball and dribbling - he may be better learning how to play inside a but more. Look at how Doku terrorized the rags last season at the Etihad

Genuine question, who is "the best RW player not at a top club"

Olise, Yamal & Doue are untouchable and at "big clubs".
Barcola is both at a big club and better at LW
Vinicius is too big an ego
Gordon & Nico Williams are better LW
Rodrygo has had a horrible season
Diomande is still raw
Bowen & Ndiaye aren't good enough
Minteh is a bit of a sick note

Semenyo was the best RW in the league this year and people want us to upgrade him already

Like most I can see he's talented but he's not the cleverest footballer, always seems to take the wrong option.

What is useful about him is he can play on both sides and cover our two first choice wingers. And we already own him. That's about it really, and as plenty have said there's not many available wingers.

Savio’s best position was left wing when on loan for Girona. 10 assists in la Liga. 8 assists for us in his first season. For a player between the age of 19-21 that’s excellent. However, apart from 45 mins against Chelsea on his debut he’s never dominated a game. His g/a are probably better than Doku’s but right backs are shit scared of him. So I’m in 2 minds whether we move on, as he’s really good back up.

Fear getting rid of him at this stage could be a massive bollock dropped.

+ the hatred for him on here is fuckin weird.

I thought Semenyo was more of a left winger.

I think Savio and Marmoush will both likely leave. So we'd have Doku, Semenyo, and Cheeki as the 3 Wingers. With Semenyo and Cheeki not being dedicated wingers, i figured a dedicated RW will be the best bet. Don't know who though. Too lazy to research someone we aren't linked to.

But I think thats the problem, and one I have as well.

If somebody comes in for 60-70m for Savinho, sure, yeah we should take that.

But we then need to buy a RW, and many people have already looked across the leagues and the tier above (Olise, Yamal) are unattainable.

The sideways grade is another young project player like Diomande, whom I like, but its another project and probably requires a big investment.

There is no established top tier attainable RW unfortunately.

Maybe it won't matter under Maresca, but usually his systems value wide 1v1 wingers, and maybe he can get the best out of Savinho.

Id atleast certainly like to see it given a chance before we give up.

I might be wrong but I think we will sell Savinho for 50 to 60 million, then put 70 million down for Anthony Gordon, Maresca wanted him at Chelsea but the price was too high
