Just seen a post from Alan Brazil, who, by all accounts, was on deaths door not so long ago. He looks like he’s lost about 5 stone. Had a life saving op and is on the mend.

Agree! That station laughed and glorified being a piss artist! Brazil got very lucky and fair he said that but he should be coming out about how drinking so much can be so bad for you and how stupid he was! It’s funny you have a life changing thing that happens then not just Brazil 99% of people say I have a different outlook on life now! Such a shame how people abuse there body! Moderation in everything is fine!
 
I'm a dedicated pisshead, passed exams and everything. I am nowhere near as bad as I was, but even now, I still enjoy the quiet bathtub-full when I'm out at night.
I know, everybody says moderation in everything, but I can't do that. I'm either all-in or I don't touch a drop. Brazil pushed himself too far and was asking for trouble. When your body tells you enough's enough, then you listen and knock it on the head for a couple of minutes!

Thing is your body will tell you it’s to much when it could be to late! The liver does recover over time though if not to late..

I think TS really needs to review its conduct to be honest.

I don't mind the clickbait or humour being a big part of it. They have different shows at different times for different audiences.

But I think the way they have made a joke of Brazil not turning up when he's at Cheltenham is a bit ridiculous when he's a paid employee and clearly has an issue. They should be refusing to allow him to be at Cheltenham. They've sacked him before but had calls for his return so reneged. They shouldn't be prioritising listening figures and money over his conduct or health and wellbeing.

I hope he did not get preferential treatment. There area number of reasons why a liver transplant might be needed and in his case he should have been bottom of the list. All self-inflicted.

About 5 months is the average but it's entirely dependent on getting a donor match. That's blood group, height, weight. You will very likely wait less time if you have blood group A, or are at deaths door or are prepared to take a liver which might not be the best. Outside of that, I can assure you, there is no way for him, or anyone else for that matter, to cheat the system. At least, not on the NHS.
