What youve written kinda applies to all wingers these days, like Semenyo who we just spent £60mil on

I like Gordon, but if we're going to sell Savinho it'll hopefully be a significant upgrade on a specialist off the right

Perosnally I think Gordon will struggle under Maresca, he's clearly built for counter attacking football

I agree.
He ripped García a new arsehole on Sunday for 45 minutes. Villa replaced him with Marty Cash at half time and Pep swapped him to the right never to be seen again.
 
I want him to get another year with Maresca! If we do sell him and he becomes a top players? I won’t be one of those sad fans doing a told you so! If we sell him that’s me done with him I won’t mention Savino again!

Its a misconception that a few have said. He's played quite a few more games on the right side than the left over the last 3 seasons.

I think Cherki is more of a central player. If Marmoush (who can only play upfront) and Savinho go which i think is the right call, then a player that can play across the front line might be useful. Kroupi maybe, more flexible than Marmoush?

That would leave us in the 4 attacking positions (CF, RW, LW, AM) with Haaland, Semenyo, Doku, Kroupi, Foden & Cherki. Is that enough?? McAidoo aswell to give us an extra option?

I think we need to focus on the ability/quality more than the position. Ideally would like a winger that plays on both wings, technically gifted and a high ceiling. Or someone who is unstoppable in one aspect like Doku. Compete with Semenyo but offers a different skillset.

Semenyo is a bagsman but not easy on the eyes. It would be nice to get someone cut from the same cloth as a Ait Nouri, Cherki, Savio but with shooting capabilities.

Either way GK, midfield and backup RB are way bigger priorities.

A ball playing GK that is good at defending corners, physically dominant but technical midfield and a Nunes understudy that doesn’t get easily bullies

Nobbins was basing his opinion on the idea that Savinho is in the next level of wingers immediately below the Yamals and Olises. That's a decent stretch for me and makes his whole opinion extremely debatable. I suggest he doesn't expose himself to too much sun at one time...

We're heavily linked to a 17 going on 18 year old called McAidoo. If Savinho is gone I'd be happy for him to be integrated to the 1st team and used as a rest and/or rotation option on the right wing.

Both Doku and Semenyo had spells when they looked tired and went off the boil in the closing months, despite us having no European commitments beyond St.Patrick's Day. The key for the next coach has to be rotating more effectively, and with neither Doku nor Semenyo looking comfortable operating on the other wing, we need someone who can deputise on either side.
 
Honestly, I wouldn't sell him. Do I think we need to do better than Savinho? Yes. Do I think names being thrown around are any better than Savinho, or more importantly, have a higher ceiling? No. Unless we bring in world-class, established player in his place, there is no point selling.
 
I've never seen a player create such a conflict of opinions on our fanbase.

Personally, I have never seen the fascination with how many people rate him. His output is terrible and you always feel that when he does get past his defender, he's never going to make that final pass.

His social media posts last year didn't sit right with me either.

We are a little light upfront and the composition of the squad is slightly off. Players have drops in form/injuries/suspensions, thats where the squad comes into it. And where we have been found lacking a little imo.

For the front 3 positions we had Haaland, Semenyo and Doku as the first choice 3 (Since late Jan when fit), but after that was Savinho, a massive downgrade. And Marmoush who can only play up top and obviously that isnt going to happen often with Haaland in Situ. Albeit when Marmoush does get on the pitch, he gets a goal every 175mins which is decent to be fair.

I would sell Savinho (not good enough) and Marmoush (not the right fit for us) and add 2 to the squad, one being an out and out right winger!! And one who can play in several positions across the front 3. With Cherki/Foden in behind

maybe maresca will be moving Nunes back to right side of midfiled/wide right if he stays and getting a full back
 
He can look great sometimes, running past defenders.

But the closer he gets to the opponent’s goal the less effective he becomes. His finishing is woeful and he rarely picks out a team mate with a cross or pass. Almost every time he scuffs it wide or weakly straight to the keeper, runs into the last defender and loses the ball or smacks it into the area to nobody in particular.

He has almost no end product for an attacker.
