Every year we have to put up with chancers and Twitter accounts saying all kinds of transfer info.

I feel we should get organised and get ourselves as clued up as possible with a spreadsheet of all the people who say stuff, was it true, was it close etc.

Unfortunately I can’t but someone with basic excel skills could log all the rumours each day and we could end up with quite a reliable database in a few seasons.

Over time we can then get to know who we can trust, who tends to spout shit and we can then make up our own minds if the source is reliable.

This isn’t to create a backlash against individuals or say people lie, it would just be good to keep records.

Example:

Ollie Holt - DAILY MAIL - Broke Pep leaving news - TRUE
Now he might not always get City info first etc but least over time we’ll know the more Ollie Holt tweets about us.

Or even do it like this

NAME - SOURCE - PLAYER CONCERNED - HEADLINE - INFO DATE - TRUE/FALSE/OPEN

@JoeBoggs1 - Twitter - Anderson - City bid 50M - 27/5/26 - OPEN (W’ed only know if fee was bullshit once he signs)

Who wants to be the spreadsheet king/queen…. :-)

I was going to say it'll need to be a right sad bastard that volunteers for that role, so i'd imagine you'll have 3 offers by end of play

Ha, well you’ve killed this with that statement. Whose gonna volunteer now?! :-D

We only really get 1 rumour a day, busy day 4 or 5 so it wouldn’t really take up much that time.

Back to selling it to someone, you’d get a lot of attention in time as soon as a journo pipes up, the volunteer will be the go to person.

Young people love attention…

I think everyone should just take a break after Saturday really, have a chill, have a beer or 3, a spliff if that's your preference and relax for a while, those of us fortunate to get away for a week or so and just take it easy instead of listening to tittle tattle and reading what wannabee journalists on Twitter bullshit they conjur up.

It's been an exhausting season, culminating with the king leaving, so sit back, watch the WC, piss ourselves at England and noddies with St George flags on every other car, and before we know it they'll be back and we will be a step closer to the start of next season, with a new coach in place a few new signings and a few departures, and then we go again.

Just relax for a 5/6 week period, and let things pan out just great, like they always seem to do these days

Yea Bellingham deal done, he will have to take that to his grave I'm afraid
Well I for one am really glad that Tolm got this one wrong, as I couldn`t have done with twatty Bellingham at our club.
Thats NOT a knock at Tolm, as sometimes last minute changes come along that no one saw and that for me was wonderful news that he fucked off to Madrid.

Nothing against tolmie but I feel he isn’t as reliable as he once was. At one point he is was spot on and brings a lot of excitement to the forum so not having a go just that I’m not sure his source is still at the club
I think he gets some info, but definitely fills in the gaps himself which sometimes leads to huge fails. Bellingham, zubimendi etc.

Jorge Garcia - @JorgeGarciaH_ - Pedro Porro - City have made contact with Spurs, 50m is the asking price - 27/5/26 - Open

Telling you all, we are missing a trick not doing this. Example 1 of how it would work.

Your idea is that you want somebody to log every rumour from every outlet over the summer and then go back over it to confirm if it was true, but cant be arsed doing it yourself so want somebody else to? ,GTF.

Bit harsh to tell me to get to fuck? Weird how people speak to each other online.
Pretty standard response for a lazy bastard who wants everyone else to do the hard work for them , although granted I forgot the obligatory smiley face to keep it light :)

He’s just not a journalist anymore no, moved away from the industry a few years back. Clearly still gets good info based off the last few years has been spot on about a lot recently.
