Pep to leave at the end of the season

Seems like they have and to me this seems like the obvious reason why he's decided to call it a day. Got his marriage back on track and wants to dedicate himself to his family and not have the job get in the way which is clearly was. Understandable.
If true then it’s as good a reason as any to call it a day.

Beautiful sentiments from @Pep Guardiola’s daughter Maria, on Instagram:

“papi ♥️

We blinked and it’s been 10 years. 10 seasons. Hundreds of away games, trips to Wembley, too many Bernabeu nights, and millions of memories.

Football was never just a sport. It decided where we lived, how often we moved, the languages we learned, the friends we made and the emotions we felt.

From as long as I can remember it was football stadiums. Moving to Doha, Mexico, Rome, Brescia, Barcelona, New York, Munich and Manchester.
Thank you for giving us a childhood built around sport, something so rare and special.

We moved again, for the 8th time in 14 years. Manchester is very hard to put into words. You changed the most respected league in the world. You achieved things and broke records that may never be repeated. And we got to experience all of it from the closest seat possible.

The happiest and saddest tears came from football, because watching you live every second so intensely made us feel everything with you. Those 90 minutes where the world feels like it stops.

We think people forget quickly because football moves fast and a new season always starts. But as time passes, we’ll realise just how impossible those numbers really are. 41 trophies in 16 years.

Years from now people will talk about football and try to explain what this era felt like, they’ll talk about your teams, the way they made people feel. Because beyond the trophies, you gave us memories we escaped real life for.

It has been a privilege to watch and support you for almost 25 years. Thank you for always bringing us close to everything, for including us in it all. The biggest privilege has been to live it all beside you.

As citizens, football fans and rivals we will miss seeing you on our screens every week. Because without realising it there is a final match, a final whistle. And none of us are ever really ready for that moment.

Thank you papi and mami, the beautiful things in our lives always trace back to this game.

For the world these were historic football moments, for us they were family memories, and I don’t think any of us realised while living it, that we were inside football history.

And that stays long after the final whistle ♥️

“On Pep, that”.

His Mrs was at the Etihad on Sunday so hopefully they are taking time out to get things on track. Apparently him signing that two year extension tipped her over the edge and they split. When we were seeing Pep with scratches on his head the media and all City’s detractors were openly laughing at him as the team were going through a bad run of results, but at the same time he had shit going on in his personal life. Looking back at it they are utter wankers taking delight showing some form of vulnerability as a person because of what he did to their teams in n a football pitch.

What the fuck ever happened to that gold trophy rumoured for the Centurions season and the 4 in a row?

Wenger got one for a season unbeaten with 12 draws, and not even the first team to do it. Nobody ever did 100pts or 4 in a row.
A gold trophy should only ever go to a team that wins all 38 games.

Going a little bit dipper here by saying this but England. The fans, FA etc don't deserve him. Bet the FA are regretting that 2 year extension for Tuchel before he had even done anything right now. I don't actually think Pep would take to international football, getting players in for 2 weeks every few months isn't enough time to teach them how to play Peps way, think it would be a bit of a disaster tbh

Unless they sacked Tuchel, the earliest would be 2028 with the 2030 world cup in mind but that only goves Pep 2 years to get them ready. Would be a great shame if he were to take over when Foden and the others that have come through the academy playing Peps way are past their prime.

Most of English football from kids in the park to the premier league play football Peps way now, he’s changed our game.

They imitate Peps way. Actually playing Peps way is very different. All the players who come in reveal how different it actually is. How much there is to take in and learn. Unless you've played under him, they can't possible know. There's words from Guehi today about how different his game is already with just 4 months working under him.

If the F.A. had any sense if he showed interest they’d be flying out with the contract.

I agree, disaster, hes too intense.

I think Pep will rock up as part of a consortium at Brescia one day, you heard it here first.

Id be pissed if it was ever in England unless it was England manager.

I'd be happier with him managing an English club (not rags liverpool arsenal obviously) he manages England he makes our rivals players better. And I just fucking hate our national team. Don't get it, how am I meant to cheer for cunts like Rashford and Henderson.

Shouldn't this title now be "Pep has left the building"? Or are we not ready to come to terms with it yet?

It would be funny seeing the meltdown from the England fans of other clubs when he springs some of those famous tactical surprises in the big games.
