Pedro Porro

I’m not saying we should sign him but he is miles better than Lewis
Personally disagree with this. Better at some things and far worse at others. I'd say most clubs would prefer to have Rico.

Oh how the mighty fall. If this is the standard we’re going for then I think we’re in trouble. Viana is so low rent - not a patch on Txixi!

It’s fucking tragic.

If we keep buying average players we will become average. It’s a simple equation.

We have bought a lot of average players in the last few years.

Porro reminds me of a younger version of Kieran Trippier. Not sure if thats a good thing or bad thing. Think id rather bank the 50m and get the 80 year old trippier on a free!!!

We’ve been doing that across the pitch but ended up with players who cannot get into the starting eleven and then flounder when thrown in at the deep end, unsurprisingly.

The fullbacks arguably have the hardest job on the pitch, but they need to be used properly and rotated regularly. If we get Porro, I reckon we’ll have the best quartet we’ve had since 2013-14. Keeping them all fit and happy will be the hardest thing.

The problem is imo is that at the very top level ie top champions league sides none of them are good enough. I think in time Nico O will be. Right now he’s more than good enough in the PL but he’s still learning his trade as a full back and will take another couple years until you can confidently stick him against any winger in the world. The other 3 simply not good enough at top CL level and never will be.

Well Viana knows him, and he knows the club kinda. Would be more excited if we went for Fresneda if we wanted to go down the route of players Viana knows.

Porro is PL tested I suppose, we know that he os average but not totally hopeless

By the way, the obvious answer for a 2nd right-back is Julian Ryerson. Zabaleta-coded and has also developed his right-foot into a whip. Most assist in the Bundesliga this season and most ever for a full-back. Mentality monster and mad as a box of frogs. Good mates with Erling. Loves to defend, and has three lungs

C'mon, unless you're Rico's blind gram there's no one sane who has ever seen the two play who believes this.

I don’t think it’s a million miles off. This season the prem has meant players need to be able to cope with intensity and athleticism more than it has for a long while and that’s where Lewis has suffered prior to this season and when we were a better side you could play Lewis comfortably in half of the PL games against lesser opposition and he could do a job. The way the league has changed and the fact we aren’t what we were I accept he’s no longer good enough.

But I’ve seen a lot of Porro and I don’t think he’s any good defensively and he’s ok but not amazing going forward. Sure, he can run up and down all game but so can Nunes.
