Pep to leave at the end of the season

Hmm you never know but pep strikes me as a never go back kinda guy
Maybe - and Id agree...but I also think something has shifted in him.....he is 10 years older than when he came and that changes a person naturally as well.

It will also depend on how the club progresses as well over the next 4-5 years but I certainly wouldnt dismiss it. The emotion he showed was very genuine. Anyone can say words of thanks etc etc but those emotions about the relationships, the city...they were real and at some point he may want to have that back....

AS the old saying goes - its only when its gone do you truly realise how much you liked something. .......

The video with Braydon is so great because you can see so clearly Pep is 100% engaged, he wants to be there, he's genuinely thrilled to see the kid again and show him the trophies. He's hugging him, joking around pushing him through the door, same with his dad.

It's the exact opposite of almost every other bit of PR work/content you usually see with celebrities where even if they engage with the premise, you know they're just there because the contract says they have to be.

I'm so happy the kid has turned this into a career as well, seems like he's done presenting for all sorts of stuff and is now a journalist. He ended up getting a fair bit of completely unwarranted hate back in 2016 when the club maybe tried to capitalise on that first video too much and did too many videos with him.

I just can't see how he'd ever end up our permanent manager again. I don't think he'll manage another club side, but if he did, it'd probably be in Italy.

If he did end up getting the England job and need to be in the country, I wouldn't be that surprised if he based himself in Manchester though.

We'll still see him a fair bit, I reckon. I think he'll come to some big games, pop up doing bit of media or interviews, doing ambassador stuff for all the CFG clubs but it'll be City 9/10 times.

Well that made me cry again. I cried on Sunday watching him say goodbye. I think i felt more emotional as I have not renewed my season ticket. I just can't afford it anymore unfortunately. Absolutely gutted.
Well that destroyed me.

Telling he said he connected to us, something I’ve read he didn’t at Bayern.

Fuck off!!

FFS, I’m a grown ass 62 yr old man and I already spent a week crying at John, Bernardo and the post-game celebrations!

Now this??

When the supporter starts talking about his daughters and dear departed ones, Pep loses it, I lose it, and my wife just looks at me AGAIN and asks “What are you crying about now?!”

I’m about to lose my Man Card in our house, so you could please place a warning on all tearjerkers from here on out?!

;-)

Pep needs the Keys to the City of Manchester!

never imagined he will be around 10 years. I wish he would have gone crazy at rebuild just when we won the treble and the summer after that rather than some sentimental, trusting older players being too loyal etc.
while imo he has underperformed in CL, we really should have won that Chelsea final too, or get one more final in a decade, but PL titles, domestic cups, 4inarow, style of play especially between 2018-2024 many records broken, some incredible games and close title races, 100 points, most goals scored in PL, treble, legendary players due to him etc etc these all leave memories we will never forget. never finished under rags either, really hope that is not changed by next managers. let that be a bare fucking minimum keep them at their place.
says it all that so many recent players have absolute good memories of their time here, about the club, Pep. there is a big family feel around, everyone taken care of.

I am sure media will do everything to undermine next manager, to compare him to Pep, while they never gave enough credit to him while he was here.

wondering whats next for Pep. I assume takes all next season off focus on family, travel, relax. but someone who is burning so much energy everday and so focused and passionate even in training he may be itching to be back even by March. would be brutal to face him in a CL game later on. :)
way too early for him to go to UAE, Saudi MLS yet. also international level is a waste for him at this age. few training every couple months, not the best way for him. he needs a break but I think we will see him still at CL level club. he is only 55.

The Champions League will always niggle, but that's cup football. Madrid have won it 6 times between 2014-2024. I don't think anybody believes they were anywhere near the best side in Europe during this period. Rags during Fergie were never best team in Europe etc.

Bernardo eluded to it in his leaving interview. Obviously the final against Chelsea is the obvious one. He also mentioned the game that we conceded twice in stoppage time at the Bernabeu and the year we lost to Madrid on pens as well as the Spurs game (last minute Sterling offside and Spur's handball etc). Frustratingly we just never seemed to get the rub of the green in the Champions League.

Bernardo believed we were the best team in Europe during those years mentioned and we really could have had another 3 or 4 to show from the past decade. I think for 6-7 years we were the best team in Europe, but at the same time we were too open at the back. Domestically the legacy will live on forever, just a shame that they could/should have gone down as one of the great European sides on top.

Is Noel alright? The left side of his face looks a bit droopy in this and his voice seems a bit muffled, like his lips aren't quite forming full words. When he says "So, ten years" at the start it sounds like he's going "Sho, chen yearsh", a bit Connery-ish.

Has he always been like that?
