Neymar was superb for Brazil and pretty much carried them for several years. Rivaldo weirdly doesn't get talked about with the same passion or nostalgia Ronaldo or Ronaldinho did but he was absolutely superb. Had those flashy moments but just executed the simple things so well.

It's way worse to allow such treatment (that extended til 1990, but that Cup was far the worse) than any dubious to wrong call that will always happen.

That was lame and in fact started to change the rules and approach to protect more the most talented ones. The level of not merely harsh, but bordering prison fouls, combined with an over the top abuse of tactical fouling was quite sthg.
