Maresca was deeply frustrated that Chelsea wouldn’t sign an experienced central defender, so he’d be chuffed to bits if he lost Dias before he’d even had a chance to work with him. In the closing weeks of last season we saw Khusanov and Guehi physically rattled by Burnley and Everton and that wasn’t a coincidence. Teams will have noticed. The backs we have all have strengths and they all have weaknesses, but if we managed to keep Akanji, Stones, Dias, and Ake happy, there’s no reason we can’t keep the current four content.
 
I dont want him to go but if a great offer comes in and it's accepted I won't be devastated due to the options we have coming up and I fully believe gvardiol is the next best thing in world football in that area of the park
 
Hope he stays, but I would understand if he's looking for options. If Khus, Josko and Guéhi are available, most likely Dias will be on the bench.
 
Dont need the money, not do we need to weaken the one position we are "100% set" for next season

Dias may not be at his best but he has a lot to offer, and offers qualities the others don't have (and vice versa)

We had 60 games last year in all comps and we've already lost experience in Stones and likely Ake (plus the experience we lose in Bernardo)

Yes, I think Akes the one more likely to leave, highly unlikely we ship out our 2 most experienced centre backs at the same time. Both have won the lot and that's invaluable in the dressing room, to get rid of both could take something away in our mentality.
 
Our squad nearly won the league despite an injury crisis in January and won the two other domestic cups as well.

We want to be winning the league and champions league and selling proven winners who have been there and done it for us isn't the right strategy to achieve it.

Keep Dias, Gvardiol, Guehi and Khusanov and we have an excellent back 4 that can help deliver the success we want.

There are plenty of players who might not be up to our standard, Dias isn't one of them.
